"Billy you're too drunk," Steve said while ushering a messy drunk Billy into the bathroom. Billy sauntered in almost falling but caught himself and leaned against the bathroom sink. Sounds of muffled music and chatter thumped below them under their feet.
"I need to get this out" Billy slurred looking down at his shirt trying to get the huge stain from his spilled drink out of his shirt with a small ripped tissue.
"No baby, let me take you home it's not gonna come out" Steve soothed, grabbing Billy's wrist halting his motions and Billy snarled.
"You wanted this" Billy slurred angrily.
"No I told you to stop drinking.. Billy now come on" Steve reassured grabbing onto Billy's bicep to steady him.

"Bullshit" Billy whispered looking down at the sink, Steve still had his arm on his bicep.
"What.. it's not Bullshit Billy let me help you" Steve said calmly shaking off what he said but Billy ripped his arm away looking at Steve with seriousness, swaying side to side.
"No it's.. you.. you are Bullshit"

"We're playing this game together pretending we're in love" Billy continued drunkenly and then burped with a dopey smile.
"Billy.." Steve trailed off leaning away looking at Billy in disbelief.
"Bullshit that's what you are" Billy slurred and placed a firm finger on Steve's chest while flashing a cheeky smirk.

"Wait Billy" Steve whispered caressing Billy jaw, soothing his thumb over the skin and moving in close making Billy look at him. "You don't love me?" Steve whispered searching Billy's eyes.
"You're Bullshit" Billy whispered his eyes piercing into Steve's.

Steve stood back, staring at Billy as his heart pinged with hurt. Billy stared back, with a playful hint in his eyes.

Steve stood frozen for one more second before storming out of the bathroom.

He kept walking down the stairs, to the backyard of his house pushing past lots of drunk people. He wanted everyone to leave. He was feeling the swell of his chest tighten, Billy's words replaying over and over in his head.

The next day at school, Billy didn't even show up. Steve felt some relief not having to deal with the aftermath of what happened, but at the same time wondered all day, if he was okay it wasn't like him to just not show up.

Steve was walking home from the high school, keeping his head down when he suddenly heard a familiar voice call out to him.

"Steve!"

Steve turned around to see Billy in his blue Camaro trailing behind him, leaning out the window with a hand on the wheel.

"What?" Steve said coldly, looking away.

"Get in...we need to talk" Billy firmly said bringing his car to a halt, parking his car and turning on his emergency lights.

Steve froze and turned around facing him, with a tense posture looking to Billy with such intensity because he was pissed. "Do you even remember what happened last night? Do you remember what you said to me?"

"Barely, I say stupid shit when I am drunk"

"Drunk words are truthful words" Steve spat.

"No" Billy said flatly and patted his driver side door "Come on, lets talk I'm sorry"

"I am not getting in the car with you" Steve said coldly, with defiance and began walking.

Billy glared before turning off his car and getting out of the car looking around while walking towards Steve with urgency.

"Please come on" He whispered, going to stand in front of Steve blocking him from walking.

"What you said god it was so hurtful" Steve seethed trying to walk around Billy.
"What did I say?" Billy pleaded, wanting to hold Steve but was hesitant from Steve being closed off and cold.

"Why should I tell you huh? I can't believe you right now" Steve said standing still looking to Billy, his could feel his heart coming up his throat.

"I was drunk!" Billy shouted throwing his hands up "What did I say?" He asked growing with agitation.

"BULLSHIT don't you remember? You said it enough times" Steve said with such iciness, he glared at Billy.

"Come on"

Steve got in Billy's face, causing him to back down and look around, they were in the middle of the sidewalk in a suburban neighborhood.

"You said you didn't love me" Steve said with his voice slightly cracking, searching Billy's eyes.

"I.. I said that? I didn't mean that" Billy argued running a hand throughout his hair, looking stressed.

"Yes you did" Steve whispered and brushed past Billy, walking down the side walk. He could feel tears streaming down his face, cooling on his skin as he walked. He could hear the sounds of Billy's Camaro roaring to life, and zooming down the street past him and around the corner, which was in the direction of his house.

He angrily approached his house looking up to see Billy leaning against his car waiting and he scoffed. "You need to leave" Steve snapped, walking past Billy and winced as Billy grabbed his wrist pulling him towards his body.

"Stop please come on I wanna talk about this" Billy soothed, running a hand down Steve's back.

"Why?" Steve whispered not even trying to pull away from Billy's hold but instead leaning into it.

"Because it's not true I was drunk come on Steve you know I do"

"You do?" Steve echoed, not believing a single word.

"You know I do, I wouldn't be here if I didn't" Billy firmly said, reaching up to brush hair out of Steve's face giving him a look of admiration.

"Why weren't you at school?" Steve whispered, changing the subject and glancing down between them. He hated how much he folded for Billy.

Billy snorted and let go of Steve running a hand through his own hair "I was hung over and you know, Neil found out about your party because Max"

Steve went rigid and stood back, running his eyes over Billy's skin, the skin that was exposed in examination because he knew how Billy's father, Neil was abusive.

"Did he touch you?"

Billy didn't answer, he just stood there.

"I.. I we don't have to talk about it now however I just want to know what went down last night what.. were you thinking?" Steve said feeling defeated "Why would you call me that?"

"I don't know, I can't explain it to you and yes, it was messed up okay"

"You know I love you Billy, I've done nothing but shown you how much I do" Steve pleaded, feeling tears roll down his cheeks.

"I know"

"Then why say that?"

"I... I felt vulnerable I don't know you were taking care of me and I got uncomfortable"

Steve's eyes almost bugged out of his head and he lunged forward grabbing Billy's face with both hands, with such passion. "So that gives you the idea to tell me you don't love me? Me helping you made you say that?"

Billy bore his eyes into Steve, he didn't know what to say. He felt the familiar pang of guilt and sadness.

"Yeah I guess so, not used to people loving me" Billy whispered, his face still in Steve's grasp.

"Don't push me away like that please" Steve whispered, sadly shaking Billy's face to regain his focus. "I love you so much"

"I love you" Billy choked out.

"I was just trying to take care of you don't do that to me again" Steve said with a shaky voice and he pulled Billy in for a hug, wrapping his arms around his tightly.
