The throne room in Bowser’s castle stood as a testament to the Koopa King’s power and dominance. Shadows danced along the dark, looming stone walls, where the flames of torches flickered, their light barely enough to pierce the oppressive atmosphere. At the heart of the chamber lay a massive table, its surface covered with a map of the Mushroom Kingdom and its neighboring territories.
Gathered around it were the most dangerous figures the realms had ever known: Mario, Bowser, Luigi, Ganondorf, and Dr. Wily. The atmosphere crackled with tension as they studied the map, each of them harboring their own ambitions and secrets.
Mario, who once embodied cheer and optimism, now wore an expression twisted by rage and frustration. He slammed his fist onto the table, the sound echoing through the hall. The toadstool-shaped pieces representing armies shuddered, almost as if they, too, feared the man who had become obsessed with power and conquest.
"Daisy’s betrayed me! Again!" Mario snarled, his eyes blazing with fury. "I knew I should’ve taken her out when I had the chance."
Luigi, sitting beside his brother, shrank back from the outburst, his green cap pulled low as though to shield himself from Mario’s wrath. "M-Mario, maybe… maybe it’s not too late?" he stammered, desperate to find some semblance of hope. "Daisy… she’s not like Peach. Maybe she’ll change her mind, eh?"
Mario turned to his brother with a withering glare, his voice cold as ice. "Daisy made her choice. She’s with Peach now, and that makes her the enemy. I don’t care how close we used to be."
Luigi felt his stomach twist as Mario’s cold words echoed in the throne room. This wasn’t the brother who used to laugh with him during their adventures. Something had changed—something dark. But how could he refuse Mario now, the Brother who always stood up for him?
Bowser, who had been listening in silence, let out a low growl, his massive arms crossed over his chest. "Look, I’m not thrilled about Daisy joining Peach either," he muttered, his red eyes narrowing, "but let’s face it—Daisy’s forces are nothing compared to what we’re up against. Her kingdom’s small. It won’t tip the scales."
A heavy silence fell over the room, each villain lost in their own thoughts. Ganondorf broke it with a slow, deliberate chuckle, his golden eyes gleaming with malice. He leaned back in his chair with a calm, confident grin. His golden eyes gleamed with amusement as he spoke, his voice a deep, resonant baritone. "Bowser’s right," he said. "Daisy’s defection changes nothing. Her army is small, and the Kong Kingdom is overextending itself. They’re supporting Hyrule, the Mushroom Kingdom, and who knows what other allies Peach is trying to drag into this mess. It’s a foolish strategy. She’s spread too thin."
Mario’s clenched fists loosened slightly, but doubt still lingered in his eyes. "But what if Peach rallies more kingdoms?" he pressed. "Daisy knows our weaknesses—our plans. She’s a threat."
Ganondorf chuckled, shaking his head. "Let her think she’s a threat," he replied dismissively. "The Kongs may be strong, but they can’t be everywhere at once. We’ll bleed them dry by attacking on multiple fronts. That’s how we’ll win."
Dr. Wily, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke up, his voice tinged with arrogant confidence. "I couldn’t agree more," he said, "And might I remind you all, we have my Robot Masters. We should send them to the front lines. They’re expendable, and I can always build more. Let them weaken Peach’s defenses. Overwhelm them with sheer numbers."
Bowser grunted, scratching his chin with one massive claw. "I don’t know about that, Wily," he rumbled. "What about Mega Man? He always shows up to wreck your plans. And what about Protoman and Bass? If they get involved—"
"What about Mega Man? He always shows up to wreck your plans. And what about Protoman and Bass? If they get involved—"
Wily waved a dismissive hand, sneering. "Proto Man does whatever he wants. He’s unpredictable—sometimes he fights alongside Mega Man, sometimes against him. It’s hardly worth considering."
Bowser grunted but remained unconvinced. "And Bass? He’s a problem."
Wily's sneer deepened, his voice dripping with contempt. "Bass? That failure? I tossed him out long ago. He’s only helping Mega Man because he’s desperate—Only Dr. Light knows is willing to fix him now. It’s pathetic, really." He laughed, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of annoyance at the mention of Bass, a creation that Wily wants no connection to.
Mario, having regained some semblance of control of the room, leaned forward, his gaze locked onto Ganondorf. "Alright," he said sharply. "Ganondorf, you’ve got experience leading an assault. Pick a target. Test Peach’s defenses. Let’s see how much she’s stretched herself."
A wicked grin spread across Ganondorf’s face as he leaned forward, tapping his fingers on the table. "Oh, I’ve already got the perfect target in mind," he said, a glint of malice in his eyes. "There’s a known warp zone on the border of the Mushroom Kingdom. It’s a weak spot. If I hit it hard enough, we can cut off reinforcements before they even reach Peach’s palace. I’ll take some of Wily’s Robot Masters with me. A little extra muscle never hurts."
Mario nodded slowly, his eyes darting to Luigi, who had been sitting quietly, anxiety etched into every line of his face. "Luigi," Mario barked, "you’re still with me, right?."
Luigi’s eyes widened in terror. "M-me? But, Mario, I don’t think—"
"I’m not asking, Luigi," Mario snapped, cutting him off. "We’re in this together, remember? You wanted to be brave. Now’s your chance."
Swallowing hard, Luigi nodded, his hands trembling. "O-okay, Mario. I’m with you."
Ganondorf rose from his seat, his imposing frame casting a shadow over the others, a dark energy radiating from him. "Good," he said confidently. "I’ll take care of the warp zone. Let’s see if Peach can handle the full might of the King of Gerudo and Wily’s creations. When I’m done, she’ll be scrambling to defend herself."
Bowser snorted, his gaze never leaving the map. "Just make sure you don’t mess it up," he growled. "I want to see Peach fall just as much as you do."
Mario watched Ganondorf leave the room, the gears of his mind turning, every thought focused on his growing desire for power. He turned to the others, his expression hardened, resolved. "Once Ganondorf breaks through, we’ll hit her with everything we’ve got," he declared. "Peach won’t know what hit her."
Dr. Wily chuckled darkly, his eyes twitching with excitement. "Yes, yes," he said gleefully. "And by the time my next wave of Robot Masters is ready, Peach’s forces will be nothing but rubble."
Bowser studied the map intently, the lines of his face etched with the seriousness of the task ahead. "Don’t get too cocky, Wily," he warned. "Peach is no pushover. And with Samus in the picture, things could get complicated."
Wily merely shrugged, a sly grin playing on his lips. "Let her come," he said. "I’ve faced tougher challenges than a bounty hunter. We’ll see who comes out on top."
Mario’s gaze fell back onto the map, his voice a whisper filled with venom. "We’ll be ready for them," he murmured. "All of them. And when the dust settles, the Mushroom Kingdom will finally be mine."
Luigi shifted uneasily in his seat, the weight of the moment pressing down on him. The air grew thick with anticipation, and for a moment, it felt as if the throne room itself held its breath, waiting for the inevitable clash. This alliance, as uneasy and volatile as it was, would either bring the Mushroom Kingdom to its knees or crumble beneath the weight of their own ambitions.
The war had begun, and there would be no turning back.
