(chapter ten)
I rush to put on my shoes as I'm yelling across the house, "Mom, we're about to be late! We gotta be there in about 5 minutes". She scurries out from her room and into the kitchen, "Bunny, why didn't you tell me sooner? Now we are going to look like bad guests!!" She huffs and quickly puts on her shoes. We run outside and jump into the car. The car drive isn't long, but it is a bit awkward. We haven't talked about that day in a couple weeks. I mean, I've apologized, but she says she'd rather not talk about it.
Even though the air feels thick, I decide to interrupt it with a conversation, "Wait, did we forget the gift?" She smirks and points to the wrapped box of fresh fruit in the backseat, "Don't worry Bunny, your mom never forgets a thing". She giggles to herself and turns her head back towards the road. I connect my phone to the car, so we can listen to actual good music, "Ooo Bunny can you play that one you showed me a couple days ago? What was it called again?" I rack my brain for a minute, "I think it was... Out of my league?" I give her a questioning look and her face lights up, "YES!!! that one!!" Her face brightens up and the rest of the ride is filled with the sound of bliss.
We make it to their door and I feel my stomach start to flutter. I've been over here so many times, but Bakugo and I have decided to tell them about us tonight. I don't know how we'll do it, but I think he has a plan? At least I hope he does. We knock on their door and Bakugo's mom greets us. She hugs my mom and gestures for us to come inside, "Thank you Mrs. Bakugo for letting us come over". I smile towards her and she grins back, "You can call me Mitsuki". No more words are said as Bakugo slides into the hallway and takes me by the hand, "I need him to help with my homework". Our mothers look at us confused, but they get cut off from saying anything as he drags me to his room.
He shuts the door behind him and exhales, "I think my parents know about us". The initial shock hinders any of my movement, "Wait how? Have we been obvious about it?" He stays silent for a moment, "I mean maybe? But, it would be allllll on you". My jaw drops, "So it's my fault?" He chuckles, "You're the one who looks at me like that. You practically have hearts as your eyes dumbass". I didn't know it was that obvious. I snicker, "You must be paying a lot of attention to me then. Maybe you're the one who brings attention to us". He rolls his eyes, "Mhm, I'm just so in lo-"
BANG BANG, "Katsuki Bakugo, you better get out here and be a good host to Kirishima's mother". She changed her tone, "Kirishima, dinner is almost ready if you'd like to come help set the table!". I grin, "Of course Mrs. Mitsuki! We'll be out there in a second!" I lean in towards Bakugo, "We should probably go now, but do you have a plan on how to tell them?" He nods his head, "Just leave it to me". Honestly it kind of worries me that he's not sharing his plan with me. He's so blunt, I think he'd just tell them straight with no build up.
"Me and Kirishima have been dating for a couple months". Wow, so I can predict the future too? Our parents just pause and break out into laughter. My mom looks towards us, "Oh Bunny, we already knew". Mrs, Mitsuki snickers, "I mean, how obvious can you both make it? Holding hands secretly, locking the door, sneaking off, and never spending a moment without each other". She chuckles and Bakugo's father chimes in, "I'd like to say, I knew first". Mrs. Mitsuki elbows him in his side, "Ow honey". She looks up at us, "There's no complaints from us, just no funny business in our house, okay?"
We make eye contact and I can't help but grin. I nod my head quickly up and down, "Of course Mrs. Mitsuki. Absolutely no funny business". She stares daggers at Bakugo, "Yes, mom". She sighs in relief, "Well, now we can finish dinner on a good note". We finish our meals and I help clean up along with Bakugo. After cleaning, my mom decides to leave early while I stay behind. His mother looks at me, "You can stay the night, but the door MUST be open. Three feet at all times, okay?" I respectively nod my head and she lets us go.
Bakugo lays down and I crawl into his bed beside him. A question pops into my head, "Why don't we call each other by our first names?" He rolls over to face me, "We can if that's what you want". He pauses, "Eijiro". My heart flutters, I love the way he says it. My mind becomes foggy and my breath shortens as I lean into him, "Katsuki". Our lips brush up against each other and a heat takes over us. I feel my body tense up as I indulge in my desires even more. Somehow my touch still makes him shake, I can't believe I can make him feel like this. BANG BANG, "I said three feet boys. Don't make me say it again".
Her footsteps disappear and laughter takes over us. I sternly look at Katsuki and point my finger at him, "No funny business". He chuckles and shoves me deeper into his bed. He changes expressions completely, "I forgot to ask you". I look at him waiting for him to continue, "Do you want to go to the school festival with me tomorrow? I know we were probably gonna go together anyways, but I didn't want to assume". I smile at him, "I missed my chance to ask first, I would love to go with you Katsuki". I shuffle closer to be in his arms and we just lay like that. It might've been for a couple hours, but soon enough, sleep quietly takes us.
I open my eyes to find the blonde haired boy with his eyes closed shut. He looks so peaceful. I brush my hands lightly over his eyes and trace the end of his jaw. How can someone look so perfect? Even his hair is still as good as it was yesterday. My hand brushes through his hair and I graze my fingers over his lips. He doesn't even need to try, he just naturally looks beautiful.
His eyes abruptly open, has he been awake this entire time? He snickers, "Are you having fun playing with my face dumbass?" My face rapidly heats up, "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you". He groans, "What time even is it? It's still pitch black outside". I grab my phone off his nightstand and turn it on. Fuck that's bright, "It's 2:33 am". He chuckles, "Very specific". He cups my face with his hands, "Let's go back to sleep Eijiro". I melt into his touch, "I'll fall asleep easily with you beside me". He rolls his eyes sarcastically, "I'm glad you will, now shut your eyes". He drags his fingers across my eyelids brining them down. I chuckle and do what he asks of me.
The bright light forces my eyes open as I groan to look at the time. Shit, "Katsuki". I softly shake him, he doesn't wake up. "Katsuki, we're gonna be late, I forgot to set a timer for the festival". He groans and rolls away from me, "Oh wow..." I smirk and bring my cold hands to his back. He rolls over to look at me with his eyebrows furrowed, "I'm sorryyyy, it was impossible to wake you otherwise". His face doesn't change. I chuckle and graze my lips across his eyelids, "I'm sorry for waking you up unexpectedly, I just don't want us to be late". He shuts his eyes and rips the covers up over his face.
I grin and bring my legs to the side of the bed. I stand up and start to get ready for the festival. I look in the mirror's reflection to see Katsuki finally bringing his head up and resting it against the bed board. I turn my head around, "Glad to see you up, sleepyhead". He yawns and stretches his arms high above his head, "Yeah, yeah, I'm getting up now". He rolls out of bed and dresses himself. I walk over and rake my hand through his hair, "You're always so pretty when you wake up. Your eyes get so glossy and your messy hair makes you cuter". He groans and leans his head into my palm, "How much time do we have to get ready?" I look at my phone, "About 30 minutes, and that includes the walk there".
His eyes widen and suddenly he looks awake. He rushes out of the room and straight into the bathroom. Once he comes out, his hair is made, his teeth are brushed, and he looks refreshed. He gestures for me to go in as well and I take care of my morning routine. He hurries me out of the bathroom and we enter the kitchen. His mom is sitting on the couch along with his father. "Good morning Mrs. Mitsuki and Mr. Bakugo". His father looks our way, "Aww, good morning to you both". He runs over to the kitchen and grabs a sandwich for us to eat on our way there. Honestly I wasn't expecting him to be so excited about this. It doesn't really seem like his thing, but I'm so happy to see him like this. He pushes me out the door and before I know it. We're at the school.
