The man dressed in rags ran through the building, seemingly searching for something. He went from room to room, sliding the partition doors open in a hurry. "Where is it, where is it?" He muttered to himself, his actions becoming more frantic as he glanced at the clock.

5.30 am. Nearly sunrise. The sky was already brightening slightly, the dark blue slowly fading into a light pink. He would've appreciated the beauty if he wasn't in such a hurry.

He was running out of time.

He huffed in frustration, and opened the draws of a desk nearby. Papers, gold trinkets, jewels and silver- he would've stolen them all, but that wasn't what he needed. It wasn't what he was here for. When he found what he was looking for, he'd have all the riches he wanted. A glow caught his vision, coming from the bottom draw. It's rays escaped through the cracks in the wood, casting thin rays into the room. He opened it, and there it was. After hours of searching the temple, he'd found it.

He didn't know why it was here, or who put it there, but that didn't matter right now. All that mattered was he had it, and now his plan would work.

With a broad smile, he picked up the purple crystal. It glowed, and started shining brightly. The man squinted, putting up his arm to shield his face. It soon died down, and he managed to look down at it once more.

"Who goes there?" A voice boomed. The man jumped, and almost dropped the crystal in surprise.

He tried to regain his composure, and adjusted his hat awkwardly.

"It's- it's the mechanic, sir." He responded gruffly.

There was a pause, and the mechanic looked around worriedly, the signs of dawn approaching rapidly. He was running out of time. "You know- the one who helped you fight the ninja in your last battle? I had the-"

"Yes, I know who you are." The voice snapped.

"You failed me last time, is this your attempt at redemption?"

The mechanic looked offended, but nodded. Realising that the crystal couldn't see him, he hurriedly said "Y-yes, sir. I apologise for disappointing you last time. I promise that it will be different now. I have a plan."

The crystal shone even brighter than before, and a sound the mechanic realised was laughter erupted from the object. "Then you'd better get out of here quickly. Dawn is approaching, and you'll be no use to me if you are a ghost."

He ran out of the room, and down the stairs, the crystal gripped tightly in his fingers. Bursting out of the door, he stumbled down the pathway and didn't stop until Yangs temple was merely a structure, deprived of all detail, behind him.

"With all due respect, sir, If you do as I say-" he stopped to gasp for breath. "I can get you out of.. this crystal thing. You can have a body, and at the same time you would be afflicting damage to your enemies. Hitting two birds with one stone, you could say," he chuckled awkwardly.

There was a moment of silence that seemed to stretch out forever, and the mechanic waited impatiently, fiddling with the wires on his arm.

"I suppose. But if it goes wrong, you will be to blame. And I won't hesitate to kill you." The crystal boomed.

The mechanic winced, but replied with a determined look on his face.

"Yes, of course, Overlord."
