"Guys!"Lloyds voice made me jump. "We need help! The mechanic- he's here! Get to the top floor as quickly as you can!" The communicator vibrated strongly before falling silent again.

"Cmon, let's go!" Kai yelled, already breaking into a run and sprinting down the corridor.

I followed him, my breathing uneven and ragged. Man, I need to run more.

He slowed to a stop in front of me, and I looked at him questioningly.

He shrugged. "I don't know where I'm going, man. Lead the way." He gestured with his hands, a sheepish smile plastered across his face.

I nodded, but to be honest I'd lost track of where we were a while ago.

We both moved quietly down the endless corridors, our footsteps echoing off of the wooden floor. The hallways seemingly stretched on and on, every corner leading into to the same sight as before. It was starting to feel like we were walking in circles.

"Do you know where you are going?"
"Not a clue."
"Right.. hey, haven't we seen this plant before?"
"This plant is on every corner, Kai."
"Oh."

"This isn't right," I muttered, more to himself, but Kai shot me a look, equally unsettled.

"Tell me about it," He said, forcing a small grin that faded quickly. "You'd think one of us would have a better sense of direction by now."

The more time they spent lost, the more trouble Lloyd and Jay could be in. Even if Nya and Zane managed to get up there, it's not guaranteed that they would be safe. The mechanic always had a trick up his sleeve, and was more powerful than he looked.

The silence here felt thick, pressing in around us. Every now and then we'd exchange a glance, hoping the other had an idea of which way to go, but neither of us ever spoke up. If we carried on, we are bound to find an exit at some point, right?

But I could feel it in the air—something about this place suddenly felt wrong.. an uneasy feeling settled in my chest.

After what felt like hours, Kai's voice broke the silence, quieter than usual. "Do you think.. that they're ok?"

A million possibilities ran through my head. First of all, they hadn't communicated again to let us know that they were alright, or that it's been sorted. That's quite a problem. That's literally one of the most important rules involving the communicator.

COMMUNICATING.

"Hopefully." I finally said, keeping my tone steady. "I don't even know how we've gotten so lost, and at this point it's getting a bit ridiculous."

He snickered, but his eyes lingered on the path ahead, the faint unease in his expression mirroring my own thoughts.

~~~
"YES!" Kai yelled in triumph. His eyes lit up with excitement as he saw the door to the stairs in front of him. I couldn't help but smirk at how happy he was.
I paused, grabbing Kai's arm to make him stop. A sound- faint, but still there.
Someone was coming down the stairs. The hair on the back of my neck rose, and the uneasy feeling in my chest only amplified. What if it was the mechanic? I grabbed onto my katanas.
Man, I wish I'd brought a better weapon. I suck at using Katanas. They're too light, and hard to control. But to be fair, I was in a rush. Hopefully I wouldn't have to use them.
