All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, who created the night and the day. We thank Allah deeply for guiding us to Islam, the only true way. It is Allah whom we only worship and to Allah we only pray. Allah is our Creator, our Lord, our God, our Owner, our King and our All-Provider whom we love, worship and obey. I bear witness that there is no God but Allah who created man (our father Adam) from clay. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Slave and the Messenger of Allah who guided us to the Truth after we were astray. Peace be on Prophet Muhammad, the Final Prophet and Messenger from Allah to all mankind, whose exalted memory and fragrant mention will always stay. Peace be upon the noble family and the honorable companions of Prophet Muhammad and on those who followed them in all good deeds today, tomorrow and yesterday.

In the era of the global village whose main themes are openness and ease of universal communication, it is imperative that people are open to other cultures so that we learn and benefit from each other in addition to enjoying the cultural beauty of different countries, nations and civilizations. In the modern world, novels play a significant role in the literature of every nation. Novels occupy a noble rank as great and exalted forms of art and literature. Successful and influential novels are dramatized and converted to movies or TV series.

In this modest work, I present my debut novel which is written in English and tells a Chinese story. My novel opens a window for the reader to better understand and know about the Arabic and Islamic civilization. I hope that my novel fosters constructive communication and mutual collaboration among the Arabic and Islamic civilization, the English and Western civilization, the Chinese civilization and the rest of the world. My novel is diverse in its topics and themes and contains both prose and poetry.

When writing my novel, I wanted to both educate and entertain the reader. My novel teaches the reader about Islam and contains some valuable translations from the Arabic and Islamic literature. There are also ten recipes from the Syrian cuisine. Furthermore, I shared some life lessons and experiences to enrich the novel. When a book combines benefit and joy, it reaches the pinnacle of quality.

I hope that my novel is a good ambassador of the Arabic and Islamic civilization to the entire world. I cannot claim that my novel is perfect. I welcome any corrections or improvements from readers and experts. The collective feedback from the community is guaranteed to bring noteworthy enhancements to my work. My novel is just one brick in the monumental building of the universal literature. Reading a novel requires a considerable investment of time from the reader and I hope that the reader will reap a valuable return on investment from reading my novel.
