In Bilad Ash-sham in the city of Damascus, since Mohammad Azzumurrud is a Koran memorizer, he decided to deepen his knowledge and understanding of the Holy Koran so that he comes nearer to Allah. So who is Allah? Allah is Creator of everything, the Creator of the heavens and the earth and the Creator of mankind; Allah is the Lord of everything, the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and the Lord of mankind; Allah is the One and Only True God.

So what is the Holy Koran? The Holy Koran is the Speech of Allah that Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad through Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) over a period spanning approximately 23 years. Prophet Muhammad lived between 570 and 632 A.D. Since Prophet Muhammad is the final Prophet and Messenger from Allah to all mankind, the Holy Koran is also the final book from Allah to all mankind. The language of the Holy Koran is Arabic and its length is around 600 pages.

Allah revealed the Torah to Prophet Moses but Jews altered and corrupted the Torah after some time. Allah revealed the Gospel to Prophet Jesus but Christians altered and corrupted the Gospel after some time. Both the Torah and the Gospel that are in the hands of Jews and Christians nowadays are corrupt and outdated. The Torah and the Gospel have all been superseded by the Holy Koran.

Because the Holy Koran is the final book from Allah to mankind and because Prophet Muhammad is the final Prophet and Messenger from Allah to mankind, the resources of Islam must be preserved from any change or corruption and this is one of the reasons why Allah chose Arabs for His final message because Arabs are well-known for their supreme and exceptional memorization. There are a myriad of Arabs and Muslims who memorize the Holy Koran which is around 600 pages. Arabs also memorize thousands of quotations of Prophet Muhammad and hundreds of verses of poetry and poems. Arabs and Muslims preserved the Holy Koran as it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad by two kinds of preservation: preservation by chests (memorization) and preservation by lines (writing). Allah promised to preserve and protect the Holy Koran from any corruption as He said in the Holy Koran:

"Verily We: It is We (Allah) Who have sent down the Reminder (i.e. the Koran) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (9)" [THK: S 15: V 9].

The purpose of the Holy Koran is guidance for mankind and jinn. The Holy Koran guides mankind and jinn to the Straight Path of Allah which is the True Religion, Islam. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

"This is the Book (the Koran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are the God-fearing [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. (2)" [THK: S 2: V 2].

"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Koran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong) ...(185)" [THK: S 2: V 185].

"And this is a blessed Book (the Koran) which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allah (i.e. do not disobey His Orders), that you may receive mercy (i.e. be saved from the torment of Hell). (155)" [THK: S 6: V 155].

"Certainly, We have brought them a Book (the Koran) which We have explained in detail with knowledge, - a guidance and a mercy to a people who believe. (52)" [THK: S 7: V 52].

"Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Koran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allah and Islamic Monotheism) by their Lord's Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise. (1)" [THK: S 14: V 1].

"Verily, this Koran guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger, Muhammad ). who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a great reward (Paradise). (9) And that those who believe not in the Hereafter, for them We have prepared a painful torment (Hell). (10)" [THK: S 17: V 9-10].
