Citations of the Holy Koran

Allah has bestowed on me three great blessings: making me an Arab, a Muslim and a Koran memorizer. Arabs speak Arabic which is the language of the Holy Koran. Being an Arab means that I can read the Holy Koran and witness its miraculous beauty and eloquence. In other words, I can read the miraculous speech of my Creator, Allah, without the need for an intermediary (a translator or an interpreter). Being a Muslim means that I embrace Islam, the only true religion of Allah, which will lead me to Paradise and salvage me from Hellfire in the Hereafter on the Day of Resurrection. Being a Koran memorizer means that I memorize the entire Holy Koran which makes me come nearer to Allah, my Creator.

Because I am a Koran memorizer, it is easy for me to cite verses from the Holy Koran when I need to do so. I beautified and adorned my book with a myriad of citations from the Holy Koran that speak about different topics. I cited translations of the Holy Koran taken from the website: [www.quranexplorer.com]. Sometimes, I edit the translation to make it clearer or aligned with my word choices. For example, I replaced the word (Qur'ân) with (Koran). Also, I added explicit nouns to clarify pronouns. Please note that at times the translation adds explanatory text that is not in the verses of the Holy Koran in order to make the verses more meaningful to the non-Arab readers.

When citing the translation of verses from the Holy Koran, I use a special reference notation. This notation looks like: [THK: S (number): V (number or range)]. THK stands for Translation of the Holy Koran taken from the website [www.quranexplorer.com]. S stands for Sura which is a chapter of the Holy Koran. The Holy Koran consists of 114 Suras. S is followed by a number to indicate which Sura of the Holy Koran is cited. V stands for Verse and each Sura of the Holy Koran consists of at least three verses and at most 286 verses. V is followed by a number if a single verse is cited or a range if multiple consecutive verses are cited.

If the reader finds some translations of the Holy Koran not sufficiently clear or he/she needs more context about the cited verses by reading what is before or after them, the reader can refer to the translation website and navigate freely to any Sura or verse of the Holy Koran in addition to trying different translations.
