Her swollen eyes felt awkward. Leila, accompanied by Anna, visited the nearest of the three trading companies introduced by the bank manager.

“Miss, are we really going to the Keller estate?”

Though it was a sudden plan, Anna asked with an excited voice. She had endured life at the Este Count’s estate solely for Leila’s sake, despite her desire to escape.

Now, the thought of escaping such a place and running away with her lady made her heart race.

“…Yes, we are.”

In truth, this was not Leila’s original plan. After changing the property title, she intended to send Anna on an errand and then leave for somewhere else herself. Anywhere, thinking she might find a place to die along the way.

But the meeting with the bank manager introduced a new variable. Hearing stories about her late mother, grandfather, and uncle sparked a desire. A desire to send Anna, who had protected her like a sister, to a safer place.

So she decided to follow the bank manager’s advice for now.

“Before that, promise me something, Anna.”

“What is it?”

Anna, feeling light-hearted, asked brightly, ready to agree to anything.

Leila gripped Anna’s hand tightly and spoke in a serious tone.

“If the plan goes wrong and we get separated, promise to go to the Keller estate.”

“…What?”

“Keep this with you, Anna.”

Leila took out a pendant with the Keller family crest, her mother’s last keepsake, from her dress pocket and placed it in Anna’s hand.

“Miss…”

“If things go wrong, go to the Keller estate and tell my uncle. If you do that, you’ll be able to avoid the worst.”

“What if I refuse…?”

Anna was about to object, but Leila was firm.

“No refusals. This is non-negotiable.”

“Miss.”

Sensing something was off, Anna tried to reject the idea to the end. She had stayed at the Este County’s estate solely for Leila. What would be the point of going to the Keller estate without her?

“You know, Anna, have you ever thought about this?”

“Thought about what?”

“That you might be wasting your precious life because of me.”

“Miss!”

Even though it was her beloved lady speaking, Anna couldn’t accept this and raised her voice. But it was something Leila had been thinking about for a long time.

“You only wanted to repay my mother. But I think you’ve more than repaid her. In fact, I’m the one who owes you a debt of gratitude.”

“How can you say that? Do you think I stayed by your side only because of the Madam? No. I…”

Anna, speaking fervently, couldn’t finish her sentence. How could she say that she thought of Leila as family, like a sister?

Despite her hardships due to her strange family, her lady was the eldest daughter of the count’s family and the only hyper-dominant omega in the Camorr Empire. She not only played the violin at an exceptional level but was also very intelligent.
