“Excuse me, Your Grace.”

“Right, has there been a letter from His Majesty the Emperor?”

“Yes, here it is.”

Before getting intimately involved with her, Lucas had briefly written a letter to the emperor. Wearing a robe that exposed his chest, he took the letter and headed to the sofa. As the silk robe fluttered, parts of his body that were exposed rippled with muscle.

Philip, who had seen the well-toned muscles from long exercise, felt awkward and cleared his throat as he followed. That man even made muscles look indecently alluring.

“In the past, His Majesty the Emperor was involved in all arranged marriages between alphas and omegas. It was a tradition passed down until the previous emperor. However, respecting the sentiments of his vassals, the previous emperor allowed the system to become virtually non-existent.”

Lucas opened the envelope to check its contents. The reassuring words of support made him feel a rare fondness for his uncle.

“It’s better to start with an engagement. Marriage involves a lot of preparation and might burden Leila unnecessarily.”

“Your Grace, you are surprisingly gentle with your lover.”

Philip spoke sincerely. He was amazed to see Lucas, who usually dismissed women approaching him, now approaching and considering a woman’s feelings.

Lucas reflected on his actions after hearing Philip’s words.

“…Gentle?”

Of course, he willingly helped when she needed it, but he knew himself very well. His actions weren’t driven by affection, but rather by the fact that she was necessary to him, and so he cherished her.

“Isn’t this gentleness enough? Lady Este must have had a hard time, so it would be good for her to rest sufficiently for now.”

“Indeed. Now that her fever has subsided, it’s time for her to regain her strength.”

“The head butler and head maid are already in an uproar. Although Your Grace may not be aware, the ducal residence is more bustling than a battlefield right now.”

At Philip’s words, Lucas looked puzzled and asked,

“Why?”

“Why else? It’s because Your Grace brought a woman here.”

“Weren’t there other ladies visiting before?”

“Those ladies visited of their own accord. But Lady Este was personally brought here by Your Grace.”

Lucas felt a peculiar emotion upon hearing Philip’s words. Indeed, Leila was the first woman he had personally ‘brought’. Despite just having his shaft deeply inside her soft flesh, he felt even more embarrassed by Philip and the servants’ attitude.

“…Tell Oliver not to exaggerate too much.”

“Understood, Your Grace.”

Seeing Lucas embarrassed was a rare sight. Philip handed over other documents, trying to suppress his laughter. Having been away from work for three days, there was much to approve.

“I’ve brought the urgent ones first.”

“Alright.”

“If you wait a moment, I’ll bring the doctor and the head butler.”

Lucas, who had his legs loosely crossed, placed his arm on the armrest and was looking through the documents. Before Philip left, Lucas added a remark.

“Tell the head maid to select maids dedicated to Leila. Since she can’t see, they must be loyal to our family.”
