Though, with every death of someone you care for, comes grief.
The pain that ached in Michael heart was unbearable. It suffocated him to the point where no sound came out as he cried out. He clasped his throat, wheezing and closed his eyes.
He just couldn't accept it, that Luke was really not coming back. Every interval he almost waited for Luke to walk back through those gates.
Oh god, he missed Luke so much.
His wonderfully blue eyes, his beautiful smile that could light up the whole town, his long noodle legs, his cute little nose that Michael had badly wanted to boop.
Just everything about Luke, Michael could remember everything. He was never going to forget Luke, their amazing talks, his cute smiley face after each message and of course him gushing over every little thing that Michael said.
And one thing that never left his mind was what Michael would do if everything didn't happen and Luke came back and walked back through his bedroom door. Michael would jump up and wrap his arms around Luke so tight so he couldn't go. He would memorize every single bit of his face and then he would kiss Luke all over mumbling 'never leave me again' over and over.
Then Luke would put his arms around the smaller boy and hug him back even tighter whispering in Michaels ear 'I promise I'll never let go' before pressing his lips to his forehead.
And that's when Michael would fall asleep in Luke's arms, feeling them wrapped around him and Luke's chest under his head. Imagining that, was the only thing that helped Michael get to sleep.
But then he would wake up to the cold reality of being alone in his bed, no Luke and no chance of his dream ever happening.
And even if it hurt to wake up and let it hit him all over again every day, Michael couldn't let go.
