9 ~ misunderstandings

For the past few weeks Jungkook was ignoring Taehyung, and the barista couldn't figure out why. no matter how many times he reached out to the younger, even pleading Jimin to try as well- the younger was avoiding him with half ass excuses. 

At first he wanted to believe that he was just busy as he told, but knowing they had an Autumn break the whole week and were off from University and the younger still didnt find the time to meet with him, Taehyung started to get annoyed. It was already Wednesday, almost half way through the break and the barista decided to try one more time. 

After all, the two had become so close after they met, hanging out almost everyday and slowly getting to know each other better, having inside jokes and so. What the hell happened?

Taehyung: Hi. when do you have free time today? 

Jungkook: I dont really... I got to do some things 

Taehyung: can I be one of those things? I haven't seen you in a while

message opened at 10:42am

Ugh, seriously? the barista got really annoyed now

He truly couldn't understand what he did wrong. he even thought about what happened at his place a few weeks ago, when the younger got nervous around him and wanted to leave, but that can't be it. right? he did try his best to make the other comfortable and made it clear that nothing like that will happen between them. 

Maybe it's because he kept touching the younger? caressing his back, lightly placing his hands on his shoulders and once in a while laying on his lap whenever they hung out at his place with the rest of the group? 

But that's something he always does, even with Jimin and Rain. why does the he take it in the wrong way? its the way Taehyung shows affection to his friends.

When Ill see him again Ill stop, obviously it makes him uncomfortable, so Ill avoid touching him at all costs and stay physically away from him when we hang out next time. then he would see its ok. 

If it was anyone else, the barista would have given up by now probably. But in his special way, Jungkook got Taehyung to open up in a way he didnt for years. Talking openly about his family, about his experience of coming out to them, about his feelings... that is not something the barista likes to do, yet somehow with Jungkook he wanted to.

A scary familiar kind of 'want'.

Coming out of his thoughts, the barista made himself a cup of coffee, staring at the oven waiting for the pastries he made to be ready. The cafe was almost empty, only a few people working on their laptops in silence. Suddenly he hears the ting sound that announces a new message

Jungkook: Ill stop by the cafe later today🫡

The biggest smile Taehyung had in a while took over his face, seeing the message and deciding to not reply - he was scared the younger will change his mind if he would say one more thing.

The morning continued as the barista served some tables, found the time to call his grandma who again reminded him its time to come visit her all while he keeps glancing at the entrance waiting for a certain raven's head to arrive. 

Finally Taehyung thought and immediately fast walked to greet the younger, wanting to give him a hug but stoping- he made a promise to himself.

'Dude what the fuck' 

The younger looked at him with an expression the older couldn't figure out, noticing how he stands awkwardly with one hand rubbing his own nape and the other pushed inside his jean' pocket. He was dressed in baggy light jeans, a white fluffy sweater and sneakers.
