2 Months Later

"I thought you were being dramatic last time." I say pacing back and forth in my white tuxedo in the dressing room as Jamie sits on the couch watching me in amusement.

"Yeah well it hits man. But you don't need to worry. Raven loves you man no doubt about it." Her says reassuring me and I nod still pacing.

"And I thought you said Jamie was a nervous wreck." Jasmine says coming in with her maid of honor dress on.

I sigh. "How is she? Shes not backing out right?"

She scoffs. "No she sent me in here to make sure you were ok actually."

I take a breath. "I'm fine I just want to see her already." I say anxious and she smiles.

"You know almost 10 months ago, I told you I doidnt think anyone would be enough for my sister. No offense Jamie."

He holds his hands up. "None taken."

"But I believe you are Dakota. You make her so happy I never seen the girl smile so damn much in my life. So thank you for being the amazing person you are. And continue to make her happy."

I smile and hug her. "Thank you Jas."

She nods. "And I have one more thing for you." I raise a brow curiously and the door opens and my mouth goes agape. "I'll give you two a minute, come on Jamie." She says and he pats my shoulder smiling at me and leaves with her.

"Hey kiddo."

"Dad?" He nods. "Wha-what are you doing here?"

"Well I wasn't invited." He says and I chuckle trying to hold back the tears. He walks up to me and hugs me and I start to actually cry and hug him back.

I release a shaky breath. I'm hugging my dad. "I thought-I thought-

He nods and wipes my tears. "I know sweetheart. And I'm so sorry. Your mother and I are getting a divorce. She just couldn't get out her mindset and I missed my daughter. I'm sorry I never stood up for you but I was stuck in my ways too I just needed to get away from what was keeping me there."

"Mom?" He nods and sniffle. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

He shrugs. "I didn't want to ruin your day if you didn't actually want me here." I shake my head and hug him again.

"I always want you here. Thank you." He hugs me tight and he sniffles.

"I love you kiddo." I smile in his shoulder.

"I love you too dad." We pull apart and wipe our eyes and face.

"So is the job of walking you down the aisle still on the table?"

I smile and nod. "Of course." Knock Knock! "Yeah."

The door opens revealing Mikayla. "It's time." She says and I nod and look at my dad.

"You ready sweetheart." I smile and nod and I take his arm and we walk together as John Legend plays. We walk down the aisle as our friends and family, even those on my mom's side smile at us proudly. "They were a little hurt you didn't invite them so I made sure I extended mine." I look at him. "They're proud of you baby."

"Thank you dad." We make it to the end and kisses my cheek. I stand up and take a breath and Jamie massages my shoulders to relax me.

"You got this." He whispers and I nod. 'You for Me' by Johnny Gill plays and Jasmine and Mikayla walk down the aisle in their dresses and flowers in hand.
