Dakotas POV❤️

"So how'd it go?" Mikayla asks when I walk into the house that's completely empty. She found a condo right smack in downtown and it's nice.

I smile hard. "It was amazing Mik!" I swoon sitting on the counter top. "I mean she looked gorgeous as ever and she loved the paintings."

"I knew she would. So?"

I nod. "She said she loved me and that she'd want to marry me. Of course she has to get a divorce from Jamie." She nods. "But other that that, I mean she said yes."

She smiles. "I'm so happy for you Dakota." She comes to me and hugs me and I hug her back. "So what now? Are you going to talk to Jamie, I mean that'll be a big discussion don't you think?" I sigh and nod reluctantly.

"Yeah and I'll need to talk to people I have no want to." She gives me a sympathetic look.

"You're happy Dakota, they should want that for you." She says angrily.

I nod. "Yeah, should. Doesn't mean they will." She sighs. "But hey enough of that for now, when are we getting my shit back?"

She groans. "Do you not know how much stress and yelling it took for me to get the movers to do their jobs getting it to Spain?" I shrug actually not knowing since I was working on a lot of projects that whole month. She sighs running her hands through her hair. "A week."

I smile and pull her back in for a hug. "And that's why you're the best!" She pushes me off and flicks me off leaving the house. I chuckle and the sigh in content. Yes!!!

~Monday~

I asked Jamie to meet me at our old favorite diner we used to go to every time we got out of school for the day. I sit at the table anxiously bouncing my leg as I wait for him. "Yurrr!" He yells making me look at him with his arms wide in his grey Nike tracksuit. I stand up smiling and hug him right. "You weren't gone as long this time." He says and I laugh.

"Aww so you didn't miss me? Alright I'll leave again." I say playfully and he stops me from walking out.

"No! I did. Please don't go again." He says and I smile and we sit down across from each other. "So what's so damn important I took off work to hang with my bestfriend?" He asks.

"Let's order first." I say stalking and he nods.

"Great idea. Now that Raven is moved in with Jasmine, I haven't had a decent meal in weeks." He says and I nod and wave to the waitress.

"What can I get for you?" She asks and we order our meals. "Alright I'll have those out for you soon." She says with a smile and then leaves.

I look at him and he shrugs asking me to go on. I take a breath. "As you know, I love Raven." He nods. "And she told me she loved me back."

His eyes drop but he has a small smile on his face. "I'm happy for you guys."

My brows shoot up. "Yeah?"

He nods. "Of course. I mean what do I expect when my bestfriend is the best person in the world? She's bound to make anyone happy." I smile at that. "So you guys are together now?"

I nod. "Yeah I got back this weekend and I took her on a date." He smiles at that. "So yeah we're together."

"Congratulations." He says raising the salt shaker like a glass and then I grab the pepper. Clink! We laugh and then our food comes. "But you sounded way more anxious for just telling me something I knew would happen anyway. What's up?" He asks and I sigh.

"Um I sorta asked her to marry me JJ." His eyes leave his plate and meet mine through his lashes.

"What?"

I nod. "I asked her to marry me. After you guys finalize your divorce of course and we wait a little bit but I asked her to marry me. And I wanted to tell you I did."

He lifts his head fully and looks at me. "You asked the woman I was married to for 3 months to marry you and she said yes?" I shrug and nod. He bursts out laughing and I look confused. "Aye yo man damn! I knew you lesbians moved fast but damn!"

"So you're not mad?"

He scoffs. "Mad for what? I mean yeah it'll be kinda awkward being at your wedding marrying the woman I was married to but aye man I'm happy for you. I mean you deserve to be just as happy as me and clearly you make her just as happy for her to say yes. I mean it took me 2 years." He says still laughing and I take a breath of relief.

"I don't think you understand how much this means to me JJ." His eyes soften and stands up with arms wide. I stand up and hug him tight. "Thank you."

He nods in my shoulder. "Of course man. I love you."

I sniffle. "I love you too."

He pulls back. "I know yo bitch ass crying?" He jokes and I shove him away wiping my tears. "I'm just glad to see you found someone to make you happy Koda." I nod.

"So with that being said," we sit back down and he looks at me curiously.

"Damn theres more?'" I chuckle and nod.

"Will you be my best man?" I ask and his brows shoot up.

He laughs. "You do realize this is kinda fucked up." He jokes and I nod. "But I'd love to be your best man. Atleast you gave me a sooner notice than I did."

I laugh. "Yeah I'm still a little pissed about that by the way." He shrugs.

"You met the love of your life because of me, can't be that mad at me." He says and I smile at the thought of Raven. I miss her. "So when are you gonna tell them?" He asks and my happiness goes short lived.

I sigh. "Soon." He nods knowingly.

"We'll just know, I'm happy for you." I nod.

"Thanks." He nods and we continue eating and talking. I missed my brother and I'm just glad this didn't change anything with us.

We finish eating and walk to his car. "Hey look, don't let them get to you too hard. We know how they are."

I sigh. "Yeah but I'm just hoping after years of not seeing me, that they'll understand and just love me."

"They do love you Koda, they just-

"Are stuck in their ways." He looks at me sympathetically and nods. "Yeah I know. But look thanks for coming and not being pissed."

He chuckles. "I'm your bestfriend Koda, your happiness is all that matters to me." I smile. "See you later."

"See you." I sigh in content when he gets in his car. Bzzz! I take my phone out and seeing the text from Mikayla.

Me: I'll be home soon just got done with Jamie
Mik🤓: see you at home

I got to Ravens and I messages and smile at the texts from this morning.

My Wife❤️: good morning
Me: good morning to you how'd you sleep
My Wife❤️: amazing because I knew I'd wake up to having the best girlfriend in the world
Me: you have another girlfriend?
My Wife❤️: lol no silly you baby
Me: yeah ik I am pretty great
My Wife❤️: that you are. u meeting Jamie today
Me: yes I am I'll let you know how it goes
My Wife❤️: I love you
Me: I love you too see you later tonight
Me: just got done with Jamie he's actually happy for us
My Wife❤️: not surprised see you tonight?
Me: ofc❤️

My heart is literally heavy at how much I love this woman. I can't wait to marry her.
