[Jungkook]

'Please accept our condolences. I'm so sorry for your loss. Time will heal everything.'
.
I can't count on one hand the number of times I've heard those phrases. Sentiments of sympathies from relatives, friends and even strangers. The death of my brother Jon was the beginning of this torture and now I was hearing them again. I just couldn't believe it. When I sat down in the chapel, I wondered how quickly things can change. One day you're a little boy yearning for your parents love and in the blink of an eye, you're burying one of them.
.
While we were waiting for Jimin to have his final surgery done, my mom had fainted to the floor. The hospital staff immediately warded her and began doing tests. Unfortunately, that heart attack was the beginning of what would be a series of attacks. A few hours after Jimin's surgery was finished, she finally gave in. It was definitely heart breaking. I was trying to split myself into two persons as I kept running from one room to the other. My mom died an hour before Jimin came out of his anaesthesia. I didn't want to tell him to burden him but I had to be there for him. I promised to be the first person he saw when he woke up. From the moment Jimin saw me, it's like he knew.
.
"Jungkook-ah. What's wrong? Something happened, I can see it in your eyes..." Jimin's voice was groggy as he was still trying to wake up.
.
"Jiminsii... Are you okay?" I asked as my face was inches away from his. My breathing was rough and my voice was hoarser than his.
.
But my Jimin knew every single part of me, even my painful sides. "Something's not right... What's wrong, my Jungkookie?"
.
From the moment he said my name and touched my face, I began to wail. "JIMINNNNNN... Oh God. Why? Why does this keep happening? Eomma... Mom... She's gone..."
.
"What?" I heard his soft voice asking by my ear. He lifted my face to look at him and when I repeated my words, Jimin began to cry too.
.
We held on to each other and cried our eyes out. That's all we could've done. Just be there for each other.
.
Right now, we were all gathered at my parents' home after the funeral service. I was on the sofa while Jimin was sitting on a wheelchair getting some of the rest that he needed. Suki was greeting members of our family and friends. They all came to pay their respects to my mom. Eomma. Mother. My mom... was now with Jimin's mom resting peacefully in that eternal heavenly resting place.
.
Suki eventually came and sat next to me. She was still crying even though the service was already finished. I hugged her and we stayed in each other's arms silently. Finally I asked, "Where's dad?"
.
Suki sniffled and answered, "He's in the backyard. I think he's building another fortress."
.
I put her to sit back on the backrest of the sofa and I went towards our yard in the back. There, as Suki said, was my dad. He was moving back and forth, getting pieces of wood and tools to make another one of his amazing mazes. But this time I knew it was to keep himself occupied from thinking about...
.
"Dad," I called out to him but he didn't hear me. "Dad..." I said a little louder yet he still continued talking to himself while he worked vigorously on his creation. But I was his prized creation and I insisted that he listen to me. "APPA!!!"
