Looking at the clock while taking a brief glimpse at my phone, it was a little past 6:30, and Horikita, Haruka, Miyake, and I were all huddled up at the library. Unfortunately, Sudō chose not to attend today's session as he wanted to workout at the gym so he wouldn't fall behind when he made his return to basketball practice.
We've been in here for the past two hours, and I felt that the session should be ending at any moment now.
"Hnnn...~,"
Haruka stretched her arms and let out a delicate moan from her lips. I glanced at Miyake, who sat to the right and stiffened the expression on his face to fight the temptation to stare at Haruka's tits and was staring intently at his paper like his life depended on.
Even though I had the mind of a weird man, I could well understand why he was acting the way he was.
The poor guy never stood a chance at being around three attractive women, even if he wasn't a massive pervert, like most of the guys in my class. Of course, I attempted to drag Ayanokōji into this group earlier so that Miyake wouldn't be so lonely as the only guy in this small study group, but in typical Ayanokōji fashion, he refused and wanted to stick it out with Ryōko's group.
However, seeing Haruka-chan yawn made me realize how boring studying was.
"Mmmmm~," I yawned, hoping to remove that stone-cold expression on his face. "Geez, Haruka-chan, your yawning is contagious."
"Sorry, but studying is boring." Haruka-chan rested her face on her arms and relaxed her voice. "Say, Horikita-san, can we call it for a day? I want to stretch my legs, or be anywhere else besides this stuffy library?"
Horikita looked directly at Haruka, addressing her question with a stern expression.
"The three of you made sufficient progress, but since tomorrow is the end of the week, I ask that we meet up again tomorrow, and starting next week I'll be a bit more lax with meetings after class since none of you are at real risk of expulsion."
"That's fine with me, but I should let you know that I'm a part of the archery club, and even though I'm fine with taking a few days off, there are certain days I have to attend."
Miyake, no longer feeling uncomfortable, began packing his belongings into his bag.
"Just send me a message about the days you can't attend, and I'll make sure I don't interfere with your schedule."
"Though Horikita-san, I felt like I learned a lot from you."
"There's no need for the praise, Hasebe-san. This is just a thanks for assisting me in getting Sudō-kun to take his studies seriously, which is just a small step for me to reach Class A."
God, Horikita can be incredibly frustrating like this. Why can't she be normal, and just say thank you for the compliment?
"You really want to reach Class A, don't you?"
Haruka leaned forward, staring directly at Horikita.
"Of course. Is it not the same for you?"
"I mean, I would love to reach Class A by the time I graduate, as it would be useful, but I have the slightest clue about how besides getting all of us to pass the midterms." Haruka relapsed a defeated sigh. "But after that, it's like the wild west."
"That makes the two of us, but I'm sure a path to Class A will come its way, and I will find it."
Horikita's expression displayed determination beneath those words of hers.
