⚠️ FAMILY ABUSE! ⚠️

[RODGER]

Life.
That is a dramatic start for me.
The entire time I have been writing this makes me feel more and more like I havent shared something very important with the entire lore of me and my family. How me and Teagan turned out the way we are. Why we are divorced and why she is well.. The way she is. I'll start with the basics.

It was the day of Toodles' birth. I was sitting on a chair right next to Teagan, who was laying down on the hospital bed, taking deep breaths after 20mins of pushing. Our daughter had finally been born into this world and we named her Toodles.
I couldn't hold in my happy tears when I firstly laid eyes on my daughter. She was a small, very tired and very crying 8-ball, which made me just love her even more. Teagan was tired on the bed so I put our daughter down and went to attend to her. She smiled as soon as she saw me.

"Hey.. How is she?" she asked, holding my cheek gently. I held her hand and smiled.

"Healthy, and tired." I giggled a bit and she smiled in relief.

"Good.. Gosh I think I need alot of rest after that." She slowly closed her eyes and I nodded, letting her sleep for as long as she needed.

"Rest as long as you need darling, you did so well." I placed a sweet kiss on her forehead and went to attend on my daughter, she sleeping super peacefully, making my lips curve up into a slight smile. I picked her up and headed out to a wending machine, getting myself something to eat while still carrying Toodles. She was napping quietly against my chest.

Once I had some food in my stomach I went back to the hospital room and sat down, opening up a newspaper, reading it for a while before Teagan woke up. She yawned and stretched, slowly getting out of bed. I got up and went to place her back down.

"You just gave birth, lay down for a bit longer.." I laid her back down and she looked a bit annoyed. I shook my head and she rolled her eyes and laid back down.

"You don't have to take care of me Rodger. I can handle myself just fine." she pushed my hand away and I just looked away, not wanting to make her anymore mad.

"Alright.. Let's not argue right now.. Our daughter was just born and we are both exhausted. Let's rest and then go home tomorrow alright?" I smiled at my offer, Teagan eyeing me for a while before nodding.

"Fine.. Just don't disturb me while I sleep. I don't need your pity." she took her hand to herself and just closed her eyes, making me wonder if I did something wrong. I just nodded a bit and turned around, walking back to the seat and rocking Toodles gently so she didn't wake up..

🔎

A Very important note to remember was that Teagan wasn't always like this.. Her personality changed when she found out she was pregnant. Something about having a Child switched her entire personality and she became more.. abusive and more arguing. She never laid a hand on me or Toodles before Toodles' 5th Birthday...

"Happy Birthday darling! Oh you are a big girl now!" I smiled and picked Toodles up, she wearing her princess dress and a party hat.

"Thank you papa! But.. Is mama gonna join us for my Birthday? she skipped it last year.." she asked, looking at me with eyes that could make an adult man cry. I looked around the house, knowing darn well Teagan said she'll be spending the day at a local bar. I turned to Toodles and smiled warmly.

"Im sure mama will show up." Toodles smiled at this information and I carried her to her bedroom, sitting her down on her bed.

"Before we start our day since its your Birthday, I need you to do something for papa alright.?" I held her hands and she looked at me, rather worried but nodded. I smiled and took out her backpack.

"I need you to pack clothes and important stuff to this backpack incase of an emergency alright? Papa will help.." I opened the backpack and without asking any questions, she ran to her wardrobe and began picking out clothes that I packed to her backpack. I knew that if Teagan were to come home, she wouldn't be happy.. It's better to be prepared than die trying..

"Is this because mama will be angry again..?" she asked, holding tears. I gulped and nodded gently.

"Yeah.. I'm Sorry you have to go through this pumpkin.. Papa will get us somewhere safe, even if it meant leaving mama alone for a while." I hesitated and Toodles stayed quiet before gently nodding.

She was 5. She didn't need to be afraid of coming home to her Mother hitting her father. This was to ensure Teagan didn't traumatize her more than she already had.

Once we finished packing I took Toodles out to a restaurant and then a trampoline Park and then to a store so she could pick out her Birthday gift. Things were good but turned to the worse once the clock hit 10pm. Toodles had went to bed 2h ago and I was sitting on the sofa enjoying a glass of wine. Teagan got inside, Blackout drunk as always..

"Happy Birthday to my daughter..~!" she hicced and fell to the sofa next to me. I made space for her.

"Where i-is she?~" she asked. I Eyed her annoyingly.

"Her Birthday was today, and you missed it since you were out with your addicted friends again." I rose my voice, her turning to me.

"Shut up whore..~ all you are good enough is climaxing and making me pregnant...~ I-I never wanted a daughter to begin with!!" she threw the wine bottle at my head and it shattered. I didn't bother arguing and held my head, running to Toodles' room.

"Hey.. Toodles dear its time to go.." I picked her up and took the backpack, running out of the house while Teagan yelled and threw stuff at us. I covered Toodles and took the hits. I placed her to the passanger seat, threw the backpack to the backseat and drove off to a nearby hotel...
