3rd Pov
"Yeh samaan kyu bandh rahi ho?" Veer asked as they both returned to their room after the breakfast.
"Wo Amma ne kaha hai. Pagphere ki rasam ke liye"
"Toh Saman kyu bandh rahi ho? Shaam tak aajaugi na"
"Nahi wo 2 din ke liye Jate hai"
"Kahi nahi Jari tum 2 din ke liye"
"Par ras-"
"Kahi nahi jaari tum" he says moving in front of her and taking the saree from her hands which she was packing. "Agar rasam hai toh Ghar hoke shaam tak aajao"
Veer wasn't ready to listen. He was only thinking about how he just got her and now she is planning to go again. He wouldn't let that happen.
"Toh aap Amma se baat karlo" Tara said to Veer as she didn't want to disrespect anyone.
"Theek hai" Veer said and went out of the room, banging the doors.
Amma was sitting in the hall. He almost ran down the stairs and stood in front of Amma.
"Kya hogaya mere ladle ko? Humesha yeh saadi si shakal kyu banaye rakhta hai" Amma said while cracking a peanut open and then passing it to Veer. Veer takes it and eats it. Jhanvi, Daksh and Sanjay who were also sitting with Amma giggled. Veer looked at them and they became silent.
"Amma Tara kahi nahi jaari"
"Matlab?" Amma looked at Veer.
"Pagphere ke liye. Agar wo jarahi hai toh bas kuch ghanto ke liye. 2 din ka kya Matlab Banta Hai?"
"Aree aaj ja rahi hai aur Kal shaam tak wapas aajaegi"
"Nahi Amma meri biwi itne samay ke liye kahi nahi jarahi hai" Veer said with finality.
"Veer beta Rasam hoti hai aur uske Bina Tera kya hi kaam atak raha hai?" Amma tried to convince Veer. Tara also came down to see their conversation.
"Nahi Amma wo nahi jayegi. Pehle toh meri shaadi Der se ki aur ab usse mujhse dhoor Kar rhe ho. Mein nahi manta aisi rasam"
"Aree Veer-"
"Nahi Amma" Veer said with a firm tone but never raising it.
"Veerbhadra" Bade Thakur's voice echoed in the hall.
"Ab toh Veer bhaiya gye" Sanjay whispered to Daksh.
"Idhar aao" Bade Thakur called Veer to his room and talked to him. Everyone wanted to know what was happening but no voice came out of the room.
When they both came out, Veer seemed more relaxed.
"Tara bahu chalo Jane ka samay hogya haina tumhara. Kal tumhe Veerbhadra lene aajaega" Bade Thakur said. Tara nodded with her face covered with ghunghat which she had to pull down immediately when Bade Thakur appeared.
Bade Thakur kept a hand on Veer's shoulder and then went out of the house.
Tara went to the room and waited for Veer to return. When Veer finally came, she immediately stood up.
"Saman bandh Lia?" Veer asked in his usual tone.
"Ji"
"Theek hai chalo"
"Mein jau?" She asked confirming.
"Haan Tara"
"Pakka?"
"Tara gussa mat dilao. Pados mei hi ja rahi ho" he said and took her bag. Going downstairs, he gave the bag to Amit and then he watched both of them leave.
He glared at everyone in the hall and then went to his room. Whatever Bade Thakur said convinced him to let Tara go for the night. It was no secret that Veer was the most like Bade Thakur. Amma called both of them "Bael bhuddhi". But Bade Thakur learned from his experience.
Veer continued to stay in his room until midnight declining everyone who called him outside his room. He just came out once to meet Amit and then again went inside. When the crescent moon was out, he decided to step out of his room and set his plan in motion.
He noticed Bade Thakur in the Hall and touched his feet.
"Samay se wapas aajana"
"Ji papa" Veer said and went out. Bade Thakur just shook his head, slightly smiling.
Veer took out his bike and parked in front of Tara's maternal house. He knocked on the door and Amit came out to see him. He nodded at Veer.
"Tara kaha hai?"
"Didi kamre mei hai jija ji. Ma sogyi hai"
Veer just nodded to this information.
"Mein didi ko bhula ke lata hoon" Amit said and then went on to call Tara who came out wearing light pink saree. Veer continued to stare at her, just taking her in.
"Ji?"
"Tum isme sone wali thi?"
"Amit ne bataya tha aap aayege" Tara said looking down.
"Accha"
"Aap andar nahi aayege?"
"Nahi"
Tara looked at him surprised, almost disappointed.
"Tumhe lene aaya hoon" he added.
"Par wo toh Kal-"
"Kuch dikhana hai tumhe. Chalo" he said and held her hand. They both came to stand in front of his bike.
"Ji bohot raat horahi hai"
"Toh? Tumhe daar lagra hai?" He said moving closer to her in case she was actually scared.
"Nahi. Wo iss samay acche log Bahar nahi hote na"
"Uski dikkat Tum mat lo. Koi bolke toh dekhe phir mein batata hoon"
"Bechare log" Tara whispered feeling sympathy with everyone who has been beaten by Veer.
"Kuch kaha tumne?"
"Aree nahi. Chale?" She asked smiling nervously.
"Haan"
Tara sat behind him and enjoyed the ride. She has never been out of her house at this time. The place was eerily quiet. Almost everyone was inside their houses, sleeping. Dogs were barking and fighting with each other. But even they didn't follow Veer's bike.
Veer parked his bike in front of a small house which was just single floored. Tara got down and then looked at Veer, confused.
"Yeh kaha-?"
"Chalo mere saath" he said and opened the lock of the door. Taking her inside, he switched on the lights. It was a house with no rooms, just one big hall.
Tara looked around shocked. On the walls there were paintings of her.
"Yeh toh... mein.." She said going near one of the paintings. She traced the painting without touching it.
"Tum chu sakti ho. Sab tumhari hi hai"
Tara looked back at him and then touched the painting.
"Yeh kisne banayi" Tara asked looking at the painting. Veer slowly came to stand behind her.
"Mene. Aur kon banayega" he replied and Tara immediately turned around to look at him. There were unshed tears in her eyes. She felt so loved by him.
"Bas aise hi rehna"
"Ji?"
"Aise hi raho" he said going to the blank canvas and picking up his pencil.
