The Ghoulish Haunted Mansion

Chapter 7

Meanwhile, Bobby, Pablo, and Sam hid in the closet. Then they started to hear a thumping sound, and they all started to get scared. Sam whispered, "What's that?" Bobby whispered, "I don't know." Pablo whispered, "It's the beating of one of their dead hearts. Now we're going to become ghosts." Bobby whispered, "We're not ghosts, Pablo." Pablo whispered, "Not yet. They'll all scare us to death. Then we become ghosts and join them as they want." Sam said, "I don't want to be a ghost." Bobby whispered, "Quiet." The thumping sound stopped for a minute, then moved away from the closet. Sam said, "Sweet relief." Bobby said, "That was close." Then they heard somebody calling their names ghostly and started to get scared. The eerie voice asked, "Where are you?" Once they heard it, Pablo screamed in terror and said, "Ah! I'm getting out of this house." Pablo quickly ran for his life, and Bobby and Sam chased him. Bobby said, "Pablo, wait, no." Pablo said, "Ah! Spooky house. Spooky, crazy house." Pablo ran for one of the windows and tried to take down all the boards they put on it so that he could escape. While he was doing so, Bobby and Sam stopped him and tried to calm him down. Pablo said, "Hey, what's this?" Pablo grabbed something from the ground and saw a sweater covered in ghost's slime. Pablo said, "Oh no, this looks like Emma's sweater." Bobby said, "Oh no, you don't think." Bobby, Pablo, and Sam all heard Emma screaming and started to get even more scared.

Meanwhile, Emma saw a ghost coming her way, so she looked in a mirror on the wall and saw her reflection. Emma's reflection said, "Run, Emma, run." Emma got scared because her image in the mirror talked back to her again. Then she did what it said and ran for her life, screaming. Then, the ghost chased her all over the mansion. Emma ran over Tom while she was running and screaming. Tom said, "Excuse me." Tom looked ahead and saw the ghost coming, so he ran for his life while screaming, too. The spirit chased Emma and Tom down the hallway, and they knocked over a vase, telephone, and mirror and broke them. Tom and Emma stood up against the side. Then the wall turned around and let them into another room behind it. When the ghost arrived, it wondered where Tom and Emma had gone. It leaned against the same wall they leaned against, and it turned around again and brought the ghost in and Tom and Emma out. Then, it repeatedly turned until Emma, Tom, and the spirit were outside. Emma yelled, "GHOST!" Emma and Tom ran away, and the ghost chased after them.

Meanwhile, Helga looked out the window and saw a shadow person with a hook for a hand, wearing a raincoat and glowing red eyes, approaching the mansion. Helga scrammed in terror and ran away from the window. Then Helga hid somewhere in the house, and a ghost still chased Emma and Tom. Emma and Tom quickly turned down the next hallway and purposely knocked over a bookshelf, a TV, a desk with framed pictures, and a potted tree, hoping it would stop the ghost, but it didn't even slow him down. The spirit chased Emma and Tom to a dead end, and when they got there, they saw they had nowhere to run. Then they saw the ghost flying up to them. When the spirit approached them, Violet jumped off the bookshelf on the wall and kept the ghost busy while Emma and Tom ran off. Once they got away, Violet ditched the spirit and re-joined Emma and Tom. Then they all ran downstairs and thought they were safe.

Meanwhile, Tom and Sam were fine and didn't see any ghosts. They opened the door to the library and saw Lou struggling. Tom said, "Lou, what are you doing?" Lou said, "I can't move." Sam said, "Why not?" Lou pointed across the room, and Tom and Sam looked at where she was pointing. When they did, they saw a doll of her tied up. Lou said, "Un-tie the doll." Tom grabbed the Lou doll and lifted it. Then Lou started to float up in the air, and Sam tried to get her down. Lou said, "You can't get me down. It's that doll." Tom said, "What?" Tom un-tied the doll, and Lou moved her limbs again. Then Tom put the toy on a table, and Lou got set on the floor. Lou said, "Thanks." Tom said, "Hmm." Tom lifted Lou's doll's leg, and Lou lifted her leg too. Tom then took a needle and said, "Hmm. I wonder." Tom stabbed the doll's back, and Lou felt that pain. Lou said, "Ouch. Watch it. That's a voodoo doll. Whatever happens to it happens to me. And two can play your game." Lou grabbed the Tom doll and showed it to Tom. Then Tom got lifted, and Lou pushed the toy against the wall. Then Tom got hit against the wall and then fell to the floor. Lou laughed, so Tom brought out the Lou doll, and Lou got lifted in the air. Then Sam took their dolls from them and set them back with the other dolls. Sam said, "No more arguing, guys."

Meanwhile, Helga took the boards off the front door, went outside into the storm, and tried to find the monster she saw. Helga said, "Hello? Anybody out there?" Helga looked all over but didn't see anybody. Helga said, "Great, Helga, you're so scared you see things." Helga didn't know that even though she didn't see the monster, the monster saw her. Helga returned to the front door, and the shadowy figure followed her. Helga tried to get inside, but the door locked again, so she pounded on it. Helga said, "Let me in, let me in." Helga started to hear someone breathing, so she turned around and looked around. Helga looked all around but didn't see anyone in the storm. She began to get scared and saw the shadowy figure she had seen earlier hiding in the shadows and laughing at her. Helga screamed in terror and ran away. Helga ran for her life while the shadow figure chased her, but she slipped into a puddle and fell into the mud. Then Helga looked behind her and saw the shadowy figure following her. Once Helga saw him, she screamed in terror again.
