Appearance

Bayonetta 1 and 2:

The bracelet of time takes the appearance of a silver coloured wrist watch that is holding on to the golden watch face. Due to the old timey theming in the original game the watch face is that of a analogue watch.

Bayonetta 3

The Bracelet of Time becomes an earing known as a loop earing that loops around the ear. The silver colouring is more pronounced with the watch face slightly sticking out. Ther is a talon to secure it to the ear.

Description

Bayonetta 1 and 2

"Eva, a truly extraordinary witch, entered into a contract with the legendary dark knight, and then faced the amassed armies of Inferno. These bracelets were made by her hand, and those wearing them are said to become true masters of Witch Time at their very will."

Bayonetta 3

This charm capable of manipulating time was crafted by Eva, a truly extraordinary witch who entered into contract with a legendary dark knight and then faced the amassed armies of inferno. The wearer is said to receive the protection of that dark knight, sharpening their senses and allowing them an even greater understanding of Witch Time, but much of the extent of this effect and the workings behind it are yet to be unraveled. Its shape is not fixed, and it is known to change into a variety of forms, such as an earring or bracelet, to adapt to the wearer's combat garb and fighting style."

Usage

Bayonetta 1 and 2

Holding down the taunt buttons causes Witch Time to activate instantly, allowing the player to control exactly when and where they wish to exploit its effects. In the original Bayonetta, the Bracelet remains activated based on how long the button is held down, though this drains the magic gauge very quickly. In Bayonetta 2, the Bracelet of Time activates Witch Time for a fixed duration and consumes only a limited amount of magic orbs with each activation.

Bayonetta 3

"This charm capable of manipulating time was crafted by Eva, a truly extraordinary witch who entered into contract with a legendary dark knight and then faced the amassed armies of inferno. The wearer is said to receive the protection of that dark knight, sharpening their senses and allowing them an even greater understanding of Witch Time, but much of the extent of this effect and the workings behind it are yet to be unravelled. Its shape is not fixed, and it is known to change into a variety of forms, such as an earring or bracelet, to adapt to the wearer's combat garb and fighting style."

References

The Bracelet of Time is visually based on the Bangle of Time item from the original Devil May Cry, with the description referencing the main character Dante's parents, his human mother Eva (here said to be a witch) and his demon father, the legendary dark knight Sparda. Sparda is the posthumous overarching protagonist of the Devil May Cry franchise. He was a mighty demon swordsman who is known as the Legendary Dark Knight (伝説の魔剣士 Densetsu no Makenshi?, lit. "Legendary Demon Swordsman").
