Appearance
The immortal marionette is an accessory that appears in all three Bayonetta games. It takes the appearance of a puppet attached to a ring made out of gold chains. The concept art shows it was originally supposed to be an bracelet but it was changed.
Description
"Nicknamed Bloody for her ruthless tactics in battle, these decorative braces were crafted by the feared witch, Mary. Especially proficient at fighting, Mary was said to unleash her techniques like an unstoppable flowing river. Those who wear these braces are said to become masterful fighters, as if they were marionettes being controlled by Mary herself."
Usage
The Immortal Marionette causes Bayonetta to execute intricate combos and techniques by simply pressing buttons without the need for timing or certain button combinations. She will also dash towards any enemies that are out of reach and can perform Wicked Weaves instantly without the need for executing specific combos or techniques. This allows for far easier gameplay for beginners.
References
The name Mary could very well be referencing the old story of "Bloody Mary". It is said that she could be summoned by standing in-front of an mirror and calling her name 3 times. When she appears she would either show the face of a women's future husband or a skull indicating they would die before they could marry. It could also be referencing the lady Mary Warren who worked as a servant in the home of John and Elizabeth Proctor. Mary Warren spent some of her childhood near Salem Harbor in Salem, Massachusetts. She was ultimately accused of being a witch and burned alive.
