Chapter 2: Torn In Half

"Bye bye! Don't miss the bus!" My mom's honey sweet voice says and I nod and trying not to limp, walk out the front door and onto the bus.
I sit where I always sit. Back row, right. I stare at my lap and try not to stand out. But I felt I was being watched. I tilt my head, and look around. Then I found the person. His icy blue gaze pierced into my green eyes. His shaggy blond hair reminds me of a Golden Retriever's lush fur. He blushes and turns his head away. I blush too and stare at my lap again.
I didn't recognize the boy, he was probably new. I try stop thinking about him, but his face kept on appearing in my mind.
"I love Storm, not him." I whisper.
The day flows by quickly at school. I didn't see the boy again except on the bus back where he sat in the row beside where I sat.
When I got off my bus stop, I walk home and run to the woods, to the clearing where I transform. Of course I don't transform because I can't, but I think. Suddenly, a rustle comes and Storm comes in. My heart leaps in joy as I see Storm with his soft brown eyes like pools of melted chocolate. Storm growls.
I yip to let him know it's me. Mira. The Wolfgirl. Yes, I can understand and talk in wolf language when I'm human too.
Storm cocks his head and lolls his tongue out and pads towards me and nuzzles his light grey face on my hand. I kiss him lightly on the head. I love him. But should I love Storm, or the new guy? Or just give up on both......?
Storm smells my worry scent and I bark to tell him I'm ok and I leave the hollow, back to my home.
Milo's already asleep when I get home.
"Mira, where were you?" My dad booms.
"Sorry, I was in the forest." I say and jump up the oak wood stairs.
I go in my room and sigh. I just love my green room.
I go to my desk and draw a chart and list all the good things about Storm and all the good things about new guy.
New guy:
1) human
Storm:
1) caring
2) knows my secret and is fine about it
I look at my chart. Storm has one better quality. I like the new guy, but I don't actually know why. My phone suddenly alerts me it's Wolfgirl time and I run to the forest hollow. My feet running on grass.
I sit down and wait, my hands touch the earth underneath and somewhere in the forest, I hear birds chirping.
I feel the normal tingle that always happens before I transform. My bushy white tail forms and I curl it around me. My ears sprout and my hands turn to paws. I howl and my pack comes and I run to camp.
I nuzzle Storm and yip in delight. Storm nudges me a deer hind leg and we eat it together.
I lope into my den, Storm tagging along.
I bump him playfully on the shoulder and he bumps me back. I curl up in a ball next to Storm. I look at him and a image flashes into my mind. The new guy.
I know that if I choose the new guy, I would stay human forever. But if if I choose Storm, then I will stay wolf forever. Do I want to be a human or a wolf? I don't know.
The next day, I find on my locker, a note. I quickly take it down. It said:

Meet me after school in the unused classroom.

It had no signature or name. I shrug and get on with my day, trying to ignore the note.
By the end of school, I decide to go to the spare classroom. I jog to the classroom and give a little gasp as I see the new guy.
"Why did you ask me to come here?" I ask, walking in the dusty classroom.
"To introduce myself." The new guy answers, his blue eyes looking into mine.
"I don't get the point." I say, but stay here and listen.
"My name is Cody. I'm new here. What's your name?" He says.
"My name is Mira." I say.
"I like that name." He says.
I blush and look to the floor. I don't have anything to say.
"Mira......this is probably stupid. I don't know if you feel the same way.....but, I love you." Cody says.
I was stunned.
"I'm sorry. I knew you wouldn't feel the same way. I should better go now!" Cody flubs.
"No. No. It's ok." I say quietly.
Suddenly, Cody's lips was on my cheek and it stayed there for a second. Then, he stepped back and blushed.
"I had to do that. Just once." Cody whispered and walked out of the door.
