A broken girl and a mafia story
*******
"I lov--" he was about to say those words but I put my hand in his mouth to stopped him and said "don't please" a tear escaped from my eyes "I'm not strong enough to...
"Mister, I request to leave right now from here, or else I'll call the cops." One of Lyala's neighbors said.
He was about to roar, but stepped back when he saw a kid with her. "My apologies."
While going he called Ace "get some men in front her building. Ask them to stand there until I call you back again." With that he cut.
His phone again rang, "what happened?" He speaks "Luna has fever, she is crying continuously, come home soon." Xavier sighed "I'm coming, call the doctor. I'm on my way."
He quickly made his way back to his office, grabbing his phone and laptop before heading out the door. He jumped into his car and sped off, his mind racing with worry for you and Luna.
Xavier arrived back at the mansion within the hour, his heart pounding with anxiety. But halted at his place when he heard.
"Don't know why that girl was even living with us, where her mother is? Doesn't she knows how to take care of a child. If the child is like this, we don't know how her mother is, that child does not have any manners, no wonder why.." Xavier blood boiled listening to his step mother.
"CAN YOU FUCKING STOP, FUCKING GO AND LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR, YOU ARE DOING THE SAME THING WITH ME AND ALBERT. YOU NEVER CARE FOR US. SO STOP INTERFERING IN OUR MATTER."
He roar and rushed inside his room, where he found Emilia sitting by Luna's bedside, looking exhausted and worried.
"Emilia." He whispered, she looked at him "Finally you're here, After crying for hours, she slept.
"He gave her a sorry look, "thanks. You can go and rest, I'll handle her." She nod getting up from the bed, "call me if you need anything." Albert entered the room.
"I..I'm sorry for that." Xavier looked at him, Albert pat his back, "that's ok." He smiled. "Doctor will be here soon." With that they both left.
After some minutes, there's a knock on the door, A man in a white coat entered "good evening Mr. Williams." Xavier nod.
Doctor examine Luna, then looked back at Xavier,"just a fever due to weather change, she will be fine by tomorrow." Doctor handed him some medicine, "I'll take my leave" Xavier nod.
Xavier turned his head as he heard some soft sobs, Xavier quickly turned his attention to the bed, his eyes filled with concern as Luna stirred awake.
He moved to her side, gently taking her small hand in his own much larger one. "Hey, princess" he crooned softly. "Daddy's here now."
Luna's eyes fluttered open, and she focused on Xavier's face. A weak smile tugged at her lips as she recognized him. "Daddy?" she whispered, her voice hoarse. Xavier's heart clenched at the sound, and he squeezed her hand gently. "Yes, sweetheart. It's me."
Over the next few days, Xavier stayed by Luna's bedside, hardly leaving her side. He fed her, changed her, and comforted her through the nights when she woke up crying. He spoke softly to her, telling her stories and singing her favorite lullabies.
"I want to meet momma." Luna asked hugging her. Xavier's expression turned soft as he met her gaze. He swallowed hard before answering Luna's question.
"Momma's not here right now, princess. She's... she's not feeling well, and the doctors are taking care of her." He paused, his voice cracking slightly. "She will be fine soon, then I'll take you to her."
Next day. Ace was trying to catch the pace of Xavier as he was walking so fast. Ace sigh and run to him "what's wrong?" Xavier look at him "Nothing." He said calmly.
Ace scoffed "then stop running bro. We are not in a marathon, walk calmly so that I can walk easily." Xavier laugh but then wear his cold face as they both are in front of many people.
"We have a meeting with Leadership teams" Ace looked at the schedule and back to Xavier. "Everyone should present within 10 minutes." Ace nods, following him to the meeting room, coffee in hand. Xavier open the doors and steps inside, taking a seat at the head of the table. He looks around the room expectantly.
As the meeting begins, Xavier listen attentively. When he noticed some inconveniences between the team members "Gentlemen, I believe we're all on the same page regarding the project's scope and goals." He said in a straight face.
"let me be clear, I expect nothing less than excellence from each and every one of you. His gaze falls on a newbie, And that includes our newest addition. Don't disappoint me, next time if i saw inconvenience between the team members, that team will no longer be exist. Keep that in your mind. Now, let's discuss the team dynamics."
I want regular progress reports from each team lead, every Monday morning.
