Arav leaned against a lamppost, his hands shoved deep into his pockets, watching as the sun began to dip behind the college buildings. It was a typical Friday evening, and students milled about, laughter echoing in the air. But for Arav, the chatter faded into a background hum, his focus zeroed in on one person—Ishika.

He had made it his mission to orchestrate their encounters, weaving himself into the fabric of her daily routine. It started innocently enough, with a casual glance here and there, but soon escalated into a full-blown obsession. Each day, he memorized her habits: the way she brushed her hair behind her ear when she was deep in thought, the slight crease in her brow when she was focused on her studies, and the melodic laughter that seemed to dance through the air like a sweet tune. She has such a beautiful smile, he thought, imagining her laughter ringing in his ears.

As he watched her from a distance, Arav's heart raced. What would she think of him if she knew? But that thought was quickly pushed aside; he was here to make his presence known.

The next day, he planned it carefully. He would "accidentally" bump into her outside the campus café, the same place she visited every Tuesday after her morning class. As the sun peeked through the clouds, he stood near the entrance, pretending to scroll through his phone, though his heart pounded with anticipation.

Moments later, Ishika appeared, her bag slung casually over one shoulder. She was lost in thought, her dark curls bouncing with each step, and Arav felt a surge of adrenaline."Hey, Ishika!" he called out, stepping into her path as if by fate.

Startled, she looked up, her eyes widening momentarily before softening into a smile. "Oh! Arav! I didn't see you there."

"Yeah, I guess I blended in with the crowd," he chuckled, trying to sound casual. "What's up? You heading to the café?"

"Just grabbing a coffee before my next class. You?"

"Same! Mind if I join you?" He gestured toward the café, his heart racing as he walked alongside her.

Ishika paused for a moment, her brow slightly furrowed. "Sure, I guess. It's a bit crowded today, though."They stepped inside, the rich aroma of coffee wrapping around them like a warm blanket. As they waited in line, Arav leaned against the counter, trying to gauge her reaction. She seemed intrigued but also slightly wary, glancing at him sideways as she fiddled with the strap of her bag.

"So, how's your semester going?" he asked, keeping his tone light.

"Pretty good, actually. Just busy with assignments and trying to keep up with everything," Ishika replied, her gaze drifting to the menu board. "You know how it is."

"Yeah, I totally get that. I'm in the same boat." He chuckled, but his mind raced. She seems so distant. Is she even enjoying this conversation? Ishika ordered her coffee, and as they moved to the side, he couldn't help but lean in a little closer, eager to catch her attention. "I've noticed you around the library a lot lately. Are you working on something special?"

She glanced at him, a spark of curiosity in her eyes. "Just studying for exams. I'm trying to be more focused this time around."

"Smart move. Studying hard is important," Arav replied, nodding, though inside, he felt a flicker of uncertainty. "Am I coming on too strong?

As they found a small table in the corner, Ishika took a sip of her coffee, her expression contemplative. "You seem to know a lot about my routine. It's a little... odd." His heart skipped a beat. "Oh, I—I just meant, I've seen you there a few times. You know how campus life is; it's hard not to notice the same faces."

"Right..." she said, her voice trailing off. There was a flicker of doubt in her eyes, a hint of something she couldn't quite place. Arav sensed the tension in the air, and he quickly added, "I guess I'm just looking to make more friends. It's always good to connect with someone who shares the same classes."
