Ishika sat on the floor of her room, hugging her knees to her chest, staring blankly at the wall. The colors around her seemed muted, as if the vibrancy of life had been sucked away, leaving her in a dull gray. Every day felt like an echo of the last—trapped in a cycle of fear, confusion, and dependency on Arav. Her mind, once sharp and determined, now felt like a foggy maze, with every turn leading to a dead end.
"Why can't you just understand?" Arav's voice pierced through her thoughts as he entered the room, slamming the door behind him. The sound jolted her back to reality, and her heart raced in response to his anger. "I'm doing this because I love you!"
"I don't need this kind of love, Arav!" she shot back, pushing herself to her feet. "You're controlling me. You're suffocating me!"
His face twisted in a mix of frustration and something else—was it fear? "Suffocating? Or is it just that you don't understand what it means to truly love someone? Everything I do is to protect you!"
"Protect me from what? My friends? My life?" Ishika spat, anger bubbling beneath the surface. "You're the one making me feel trapped!"
He stepped closer, invading her space, eyes narrowing. "And I will continue to do so if it means keeping you safe from those who want to hurt you. You think they care? They don't."
Ishika shook her head, the heaviness in her chest growing. "You're wrong. They care about me! They don't want to control me. They want to support me."
"Support?" he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. "They want to lead you astray. They're not your friends. They don't love you like I do."
A flash of doubt flickered in her mind, the remnants of her self-worth crumbling under his relentless manipulation. "You love me?" she asked, her voice softer now, almost vulnerable. "Or do you just love the idea of me?"
He closed the distance between them, cupping her face in his hands. "I love you more than you'll ever know. That's why I can't let you go. You're mine, Ishika. And I won't let anyone take you from me."
With his words hanging heavy in the air, an uneasy silence enveloped them. Ishika felt the familiar tug of intimacy, a push and pull that left her breathless and confused. Her heart raced, a part of her yearning for the comfort of his touch, even as another part screamed in defiance.
"After everything..." she started, her voice trembling as she glanced away, grappling with the conflicting emotions within her. "How can you expect me to believe that?"
"Because I know you, Ishika. I know how much you need me," he whispered, his breath warm against her skin. "You're not alone anymore. I'll always be here for you."
Before she could respond, he leaned in, capturing her lips with his. The kiss was hungry, desperate, and filled with an intensity that left her dizzy. She felt herself melting into him, every part of her screaming for escape, yet every heartbeat pulling her back into the abyss of his embrace.
As their bodies moved together, the line between love and control blurred even further. In those moments, the passion felt real, as if it could wash away the pain and confusion. Yet, when he pulled back, the sharp reality crashed back in, leaving her gasping for breath, her mind spinning.
"I don't want to feel like this anymore," she murmured, pulling away from him, tears brimming in her eyes. "I don't want to feel like I'm losing myself."
Arav's expression shifted instantly, a mask of concern overshadowing the darkness that lingered just beneath the surface. "You're not losing yourself, Ishika. You're finding out who you are with me. I'm the only one who can show you that."
