海賊狩
"There you are," you smiled, your shoulders sinking with relief as you swooped down, dropping to your knees at the sight of your swordsman.
You'd been searching for him for who knows how long, and it didn't come as a shock to find him unconscious in the middle of a huge crater.
"Gods..." you sighed, swiping some grime from his cheek. "Why do you always look an inch from death after every fight?"
Carefully, you placed his head in your lap, resting your palms against his temples as you began to heal him, your golden glow now replaced with a black one lined with brilliant silver.
From what you could tell, everyone else had finished their battles, save for Luffy, and for the first time in a while, the air around Onigashima was clear and quiet.
Too quiet.
"What the hell is happening up there?" you wondered aloud, brows furrowed with confusion.
Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, you heard a faint noise.
BUM.
'Huh?'
It was small, but somehow very distinct.
BUM.
Almost like an instrument.
BUM-BUM.
A drum.
BUM-BADUM
"Who the hell is playing the drums at a time like this?" you asked, brows furrowed.
BUM-BUM BADUM.
But it only got louder, its bass beginning to reverberate through the air, bringing a lightness to your chest.
'What the—'
BUM BADUM-BADUM BUM BADUM-BADUM.
Now it was a steady boom, carried in the breeze like a voice and bounding off the walls of the sky.
BRRUM BADUM-BADUM BRRUM BADUM-BADUM
'Why does this sound... so familar?'
BRRUM BADUM-DO-DUM BRRUM BADUM-DO-DUM BRRUM BADUM-DO-DUM
"Could it be..."
Your mind flashed with an image from Zunesha's memory, reminding you of what you saw that day on Zou.
A barren rooftop.
BRRUM BADUM-DO-DUM
A full moon.
BRRUM BADUM-DO-DUM
A laughing shadow.
BRRUM BADUM-DO-DUM
