Days turned into weeks, and gradually, Anastasia and Elijah began to find a rhythm in their relationship. They navigated their daily routines of work, home, and walks, and although Elijah's jealousy still reared its head now and then, Anastasia found herself coping with it better than she had before.

Each morning, they would wake up together, the sun streaming through the curtains, casting a warm glow over their bed. Anastasia loved the way Elijah would wrap his arms around her, holding her close as if he were afraid she might slip away. "You're still here, right?" he would murmur sleepily, his voice thick with sleep.

"Always," she'd reply, smiling as she turned to face him, her heart swelling with affection.

They would share breakfasts filled with laughter, Elijah often teasing her about her coffee preferences or stealing bites from her plate. "You know you can't resist my pancakes," he would say, a playful smirk on his lips, leaning in closer to steal a forkful.

After breakfast, Anastasia went to work. Appreciated how Elijah would always walk her to her office, his presence a comforting anchor in the often chaotic world of work. He would linger just long enough to steal a quick kiss before parting ways, the thrill of their connection sending butterflies through her stomach.

Sometimes Elijah's jealousy would occasionally resurface when he was at Anastasia's work place. Whenever he saw a male colleague approach her desk, he would instinctively tense up, his protective instincts flaring. Anastasia learned to read his body language, the way his shoulders would stiffen or his jaw would tighten.

During one particularly busy afternoon, she caught sight of Elijah standing at her office door, arms crossed, a look of barely restrained annoyance on his face.

"Everything okay?" she asked, setting her papers aside, concerned.

"Yeah," he said, though his tone was clipped. "I just don't like how that guy from accounting was talking to you earlier."

"Tom? He's harmless, I promise," she reassured him, rolling her eyes with a light laugh. "He just needed some help with a report."

"I know, but it still bugs me," Elijah admitted, his voice lowering. "You're too beautiful, Anastasia. I don't want anyone else to notice you."

She approached him, placing a hand on his arm. "I appreciate how much you care, but you have to trust me. I'm here for you, not anyone else," she said, her eyes locking onto his.

He sighed, visibly torn. "It's just hard, you know? I'm trying."

"I know you are," she said softly. "And I'm proud of you for it. Just remember, I'm not going anywhere. You're the one I want to be with."

After work, they would often take long walks, hand in hand, exploring the neighborhood together. The evenings became their sacred time, where they would share their thoughts, laugh, and connect deeply.

One evening, as they strolled through a nearby park, the sky painted with hues of orange and pink, Elijah finally opened up about his fears. "It's just that I've been hurt before. Seeing you smile at someone else brings back memories I'd rather forget."

Anastasia's heart ached for him. "You're allowed to feel that way, but don't let the past dictate our future," she encouraged. "We're building something beautiful here. Let's focus on that."

Elijah nodded, the weight of his worries lifting just a little. "You make it sound so easy."

"Because it can be," she replied, squeezing his hand. "It takes work, yes, but we're in this together."

As the weeks passed, their intimacy deepened as well. While Elijah's jealousy still lingered, their moments together became more meaningful. They would spend weekends lounging in bed, whispering sweet nothings and sharing secrets, the outside world fading away.

Anastasia also made a conscious effort to create moments where Elijah could feel secure. When she met up with friends or went out for errands, she would always check in with him, sending texts to reassure him that she was thinking of him.

"I'm just at the store, babe. Can't wait to get home and tell you about the new dessert I found!" she'd text, watching as he responded almost immediately, his concern easing with every message.

"Just don't take too long, okay? I'll be waiting," he would reply, the warmth of his words always making her smile.

One Saturday afternoon, they decided to cook together, a new recipe that Anastasia had wanted to try. The kitchen quickly filled with the scent of spices and laughter as they danced around each other, stealing kisses between chopping vegetables and stirring sauces.

"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Elijah teased, glancing at the recipe. "I don't want to burn down the apartment."

Anastasia laughed, rolling her eyes. "Trust me, I can handle a few herbs and spices. Plus, I have you to help me out."

"Yeah, your personal sous-chef," he grinned, leaning in to steal a taste from the pot.

"Hey! That was supposed to be for the sauce!" she exclaimed, feigning outrage, but unable to hide her smile.

As they settled down to eat, the warmth of the meal matched the closeness they felt. They talked about their week, shared dreams for the future, and laughed over silly mishaps in the kitchen.

"Can you imagine us cooking for our family one day?" Anastasia asked, her eyes shining as she leaned back in her chair, the thought of a future together bubbling to the surface.

Elijah's gaze softened, and he nodded slowly. "Yeah, I can see that. I'd love to have kids with you. Just imagine them running around the house."

Anastasia's heart swelled at the thought, but she couldn't ignore the lingering doubts. "Remember our talk about kids? I still want to take our time."

"Of course," Elijah replied, his tone earnest. "But I want to be open about what I want too. You mean everything to me, and I want to build a future with you."

"I feel the same," she assured him, her heart racing at the prospect. "Let's just keep enjoying our time together, and see where it leads."

"Deal," he said, reaching across the table to take her hand, his touch warm and reassuring.

As the evening drew to a close, they found themselves back on the couch, wrapped in each other's arms, a sense of comfort settling over them. Elijah's jealousy still flickered occasionally, but with each passing day, they were learning to navigate it together. They were becoming a team—working on their relationship, one day at a time.
