***POV Beatrix***
So much had changed in just under a few months. Soon Tom and I would be starting our second year at Hogwarts. Tom hadn't told me much about the group he was working on. He had held what looked like some sort of meeting once a week in the basement. In fact, He'd charmed the basement so no one could go in or out without his permission. It was beginning to get on my nerves. Why wasn't I allowed at the meetings and who were those two hooded people that attended? What was so secret that Tom would not so much as breathe a word of what he was doing? My suspicions were high. I knew I could trust Tom, but why couldn't Tom trust me?
I finished packing up my trunk as a tiny voice squeaked from the doorway, "Young Mistress, someone is here to see you."
"Did this person give their name?" I asked Diane.
"No, The boy never gave his name, Mistress," Diane squeaked. "The boy has pale blue eyes and shiny blonde hair."
"Tell him that I'll be down in a minute," I replied. Diane nodded and disappeared with a 'pop.' After bringing my trunk to the front door, I went into the drawing room. "Abraxas, what a pleasant surprise," I mentioned taking a seat next to him.
"Well I wanted to see you one last time before school started again," Abraxas smiled. "How has your summer been?"
"Alright I suppose," I mused thinking back to Tom's group.
"Well, I suppose I should just say it," Abraxas sighed. "I'm sure you've noticed our group by now, correct?"
"The one Tom's creating?" I asked surprised.
"The one and only," Abraxas confirmed. "Anyhow Tom is having us look after you at Hogwarts. I thought you'd like to know who exactly your new 'bodyguards' were."
"I suppose that would be you and...?" I prompted.
"Lestrange," Abraxas responded. I nodded.
"Beatrix, Tom mentioned something regarding targets and spies within the society," Abraxas stated. "Problem is we don't really know what we're looking for."
"I see," I answered. "I'm sure you've heard about my cousin, Irma, well her death was no mugging. She was murdered by Sirius Black, my grandfather, or at least by his command. My family seems to like to brand people as traitors and then dispose of them." Abraxas's face turned grim.
"I understand quite well what you mean," Abraxas mentioned. "A lot of pure-bloods have been noticing the disappearances within the Black family. I suppose you just confirmed what we all knew. I don't know what we can do to stop Sirius, but at least he has no allies at Hogwarts. Beyond the school though, you'll have to stick with one of us." Abraxas looked dead serious.
"I understand," I agreed.
"Alright," Abraxas answered. "Let's head to the train station."
***POV Tom***
Everything had been running smoothly. My following hadn't increased, but my use of the dark arts had. I could the cruciatus curse fluently now as well as block such attacks. Abraxas and Lestrange were also learning quite well. So far, everything seemed to be falling into place except for that professor. Professor Dumbledore, I think, had been keeping an eye on not only me, but Abraxas and Lestrange as well. It would appear that the professor would become an obstacle sooner or later. Perhaps, He could be target practice for the Killing curse. Suddenly someone covered my eyes.
"Guess who?" a voice whispered in my ear. I cracked a small smile.
"Hello Beatrix," I chuckled. I turned around and found Beatrix and Abraxas.
"Thank you for bringing her here," I addressed Abraxas.
"Of course," He replied before boarding the train.
"Come on Tom," Beatrix gushed "let's go!"
