***POV: Beatrix***
It had been a few months since the start of our second year. Tom's group had begun to expand to include two more members Avery and Rosier. The five of them had been sitting together in a group around the table since the beginning of the school year. In fact, I rarely got to see Tom anymore. He had been constantly busy with his 'group' every spare second we had. I wanted to talk to him, to understand what was going on, but every time I got him alone, He simply told me that everything was going to be okay and to just relax. I can't believe he's just leaving me in the dark!
"Beatrix, isn't it?" a voice asked. I looked up at a beautiful blonde girl standing before me in a Ravenclaw uniform.
"Yes, you're correct," I responded. "Was there something you needed?"
"Well... this is a rather touchy topic," the girl admitted. "Do you think we could go somewhere else?" Her eyes glanced at the other children sitting about the tables in the library.
"Of course," I answered. "Where to?" the girl smiled.
"I was thinking of the lake," the girl suggested. I nodded and the two of us went to sit by the lake.
"It appears that I've been rude," the girl apologized. "My name is Rebecca Miles, Daniel's girlfriend... or I suppose more of ex... girlfriend..."
"I suppose that is why I'm here?" I asked. Rebecca gave me a watery smile and nodded.
"What is it that you wanted me to do Rebecca?" I asked placing my hand over hers.
"This is a lot to ask of you Beatrix, but I was wondering if you might be able to find out why... why he left me..." Rebecca whispered. "I don't understand it Beatrix. Everything was fine until... until this year. He stopped answering my letters about a month ago and then suddenly school starts and he just breaks up. Did... did I do something wrong?"
"In all honesty, I don't think it was you," I comforted. "It may be our family... I don't mean to delve into your blood purity, but from what I've observed, it appears to matter a great deal to our parents... I don't think it was you, Rebecca, I think it was them."
"I see..." Rebecca answered. "T-thank you..." Rebecca ran away in tears. I silently vowed to myself that if I were to fall in love, I wouldn't give it up for the sake of blood purity.
***POV: Tom***
Things had been progressing well. I had two new followers and we had managed to get a hold of more books to learn from. I smiled to myself while I mused on the possibilities of things I could accomplish. My goals were slowing becoming more organized. Part 1, gain a great following and power. Part 2, Keep Beatrix safe and... and make sure no one else gets near her. That part would no doubt prove to be tricky. Luckily, my greatest adversary, Abraxas Malfoy, would be of little concern given the fact that all four of my followers already feared me. Part 3, eliminate the threats. Those threats included the obvious: Peter Black, Professor Dumbledore, and Sirius Black, but also any new threats that would come to reveal themselves. Part 4, Complete take over. My last goal would undoubtedly prove to be the hardest task of all. To ensure my safety and Beatrix's safety, I would need complete control over the Magical world and finally when all of it was done, our future would be set.
"m-m'lord..." a voice peeped.
"Yes, Avery, what is it?" I asked.
"It would appear that Miss Black was in the company of a mudblood this afternoon," Avery whimpered.
"And why should this matter to me?" I asked.
"Well, we believe that Lucretia may have seen them together..." Avery responded.
"I see..." I mused. "Dismissed." Avery scurried off leaving me alone in the room of requirement. This was not good. I appears that I had missed an enemy on my list, Lucretia Black. Well she is only a girl who loves gossip and I wonder what she would do if her parents ever found out about that little affair from last year...
