Wukong just managed to duck the strike. The entire roof of the building being reduced to dust as the glaive raised from the attack.

"Surrender and be secured, or die Wukong" The large Jade Warrior states, stepping out from the debris of him crashing into the building.

"Who is that and how did they get here so fast!" Pigsy states as the figure walks closer to Wukong, looking down at him

"I jumped" The Jade Warrior said, looking at Pigsy before back at Wukong. Holding his glaive in a battle ready stance.

"Sure you won't trap yourself again?" Wukong smirks as the warrior’s eyes narrow

"Not likely" He states before dashing forward. The two mere feet from clashing before Mk stands between them.

The two immediately halt, both looking at the mortal as he shuts his eyes.

"Move" The warrior commands.

MK took a deep breath, raising a hand to stop both the Jade Warrior and Wukong before they could clash. "Wait, hold on!" His voice cracked slightly, but it was enough to catch their attention.

The Jade Warrior halted mid-stride, his glaive still raised, while Wukong, who had been bracing for impact, blinked in confusion. "Kid, what are you doing?" Wukong asked, his tone half-annoyed, half-curious.

"I’m serious," MK said, taking a step closer to the Jade Warrior. "You said your orders were to ‘secure Wukong,’ right? You didn’t say you had to kill him."

The Jade Warrior’s gaze narrowed. "My orders are clear. Wukong must be secured."

MK nodded quickly, trying to keep the tension from boiling over. "Right! So you don’t actually have to fight him, right? If you’re just supposed to secure him, you could, I don’t know, just stay near him? Watch over him? That’s kind of securing, isn’t it?"

The Jade Warrior didn’t respond immediately. His gaze shifted to Wukong, then back to MK, clearly weighing the idea. "You’re suggesting that my presence alone could fulfill my mission?"

MK nodded vigorously. "Yeah! I mean, look, Wukong’s retired, right?" He gestured to the Monkey King, who leaned against his staff, watching with mild amusement. "He’s not planning on causing any more trouble. He’s just… you know, hanging out. So if you’re around to keep an eye on him, that’s securing him. You don’t need to trap him or fight him."

Wukong raised an eyebrow. "Well, kid, you’re not wrong… though I don’t love the idea of having this big guy hovering over me all the time."

The Jade Warrior lowered his glaive slightly, deep in thought. "Securing… without conflict." He looked at MK with newfound interest. "You seek to manipulate my orders with semantics?" They tilt their head in a confused human way, calculating if he can do that?

MK shrugged, grinning sheepishly. "I mean, it’s not really manipulation if it still gets the job done, right? You’ll be fulfilling your duty, and no one has to get hurt."

There was a long silence. The wind whistled through the shattered remains of the weather station, while Mei, Pigsy, and the others looked on with bated breath.

The Jade Warrior finally spoke, his voice slow and measured. "Wukong has proven to be a threat in the past. Simply watching him may not be enough."

Wukong waved dismissively. "Hey, hey, I’ve been good for years! The whole world-ending chaos thing? Totally behind me. The kid’s right, I’m not going anywhere."

MK stepped forward again, determined. "I’ll be here to help too. Between the two of us, we can make sure he doesn’t cause any more trouble. Plus… you’ll be around to stop him if he does."

The Jade Warrior considered MK’s words carefully. His gaze flickered back to Wukong, who gave him a nonchalant shrug. "Look, big guy, if hanging out with me is what’s needed to check that box on your mission, I’m not gonna stop you. Could be fun."

After another long pause, the Jade Warrior finally lowered his glaive completely. "Very well. If simply remaining in proximity to Wukong fulfills my duty, then I shall do so. But be warned," he added, his eyes locking onto Wukong’s with a dangerous gleam, "any sign of deviation from your peaceful intentions, and I will act."

Wukong gave a mock salute fingers crossed behind his back, grinning. "Scout’s honor."

MK let out a long breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding, relaxing his grip on the staff. "So… we’re good?"

The Jade Warrior nodded slowly. "For now. But I will remain vigilant." He glanced at MK, a hint of begrudging respect in his eyes. "You’ve found an unconventional solution, mortal. One that has saved your friends from further conflict. Do not take this lightly."

MK smiled, his shoulders dropping in relief. "I won’t. Thank you."

As the tension lifted, the rest of the group approached, still looking a bit stunned by the outcome.

Pigsy crossed his arms, eyeing the Jade Warrior warily. "So… we’re just gonna have him hanging around now?"

MK shrugged "Hey, better than getting smashed to bits, right?"

Wukong chuckled, resting his staff on his shoulder. "Yeah, let’s just hope he doesn’t snore."

"I do not, I do not have the need to breathe" The warrior stated

"So what do we call you?" Tang suddenly spoke up, investigating the large still form of the warrior

"I do not have a name, I was used as soon as I was made" The warrior declared, looking at Wukong who now balanced on his shoulder. He quickly grabs him and tossed him off.

"How about Y/n? Seems fitting" Tang said as everyone nodded

"Yeah alright, well let's go Y/n. I actually want to sleep today.... not to mention my body is soaked thanks to the rain at the fields" Wukong hopped on his cloud and flew away as The Jade Warrior followed, crouching down and simply lightly jumping to his temple.

A single word exiting the warrior's mouth.

"Y/n......."
