Years Later...

The ancient battlefield had long been forgotten, buried beneath the passage of time. Nature had reclaimed the land, turning the once scorched earth into rolling fields of green. A soft breeze swept across a meadow, where clovers bloomed thickly, their pale green leaves dancing in the sunlight.

MK stumbled upon this place by accident, his delivery route taking him farther than he'd ever traveled. He scratched the back of his head as he squinted against the light, his eyes catching something unusual in the distance, something green. Curious, he jogged closer, his sneakers crunching softly over the endless bed of clovers.

At first glance, it looked like a statue. A massive figure half-buried in the earth, jade-green armor cracked but still imposing, its surface glinting faintly beneath layers of dirt and plant life. Vines twisted up and around the legs, and moss clung to the once-glorious chest plate. But as MK stood before it, he realized this was no statue.

"This is... a war machine, or armor?" MK whispered to himself, eyes wide with awe. "But how old is it?"

He stepped closer, gently brushing away some of the vines. His fingers grazed cold metal. The figure’s glaive lay embedded in the ground beside it, forgotten, its once vibrant green energy long since extinguished. MK knelt, squinting at the intricately carved runes that lined the glaive’s hilt. It was powerful, ancient, but dormant.

For a brief moment, he wondered if this was something the Monkey King had fought before. He knew Wukong had a lot of old enemies, but this… it didn’t seem like just any foe.

His hand slid along the armor until his fingers found a crack in the chest plate. With a grunt, he tugged at the plate, trying to pry it open.

Suddenly, the ground beneath him pulsed. A faint green glow flickered within the cracks of the jade armor. MK stumbled back, eyes wide as the light slowly grew, spreading through the war machine like a heart slowly beginning to beat again.

The Jade Warrior moved for the first time in centuries.

"Woah, woah, woah!" MK scrambled backward, heart pounding as the massive figure began to rise, its joints creaking and groaning from disuse. The warrior's head tilted downward, lifeless eyes slowly lighting up with an eerie green glow. He took a step back, his enormous foot crushing clovers under its weight.

The Jade Warrior's voice, deep and mechanical, rumbled through the clearing. "System… rebooting. Functionality… restored."

MK’s breath caught in his throat. He was face-to-face with something that shouldn’t have been alive. His instincts screamed for him to run, but something about the warrior's slow, deliberate movements held him in place. It didn’t attack. It didn’t even seem to recognize him as a threat.

"Who... are you?" MK finally managed to ask, his voice shaky.

The warrior’s head turned slowly, green light reflecting off the green accents of his ancient armor. For a moment, there was only silence.
