A flicker of determination danced in Willow's eyes as the blue fire on her hands swelled, illuminating the pride and defiance etched across her face. It was a strange, yet mesmerizing combination of crazy and calm. She charged at Luna, encasing her hands in stone, and threw a powerful punch. Luna intercepted it with her entire hand, meeting Willow as an equal. Undeterred, Willow lifted her leg, aiming a strike at Luna's face.
Atsushi's POV:
"Willow's on fire!" I exclaimed, standing beside my brother, Aniruddha, our hands connected at the wrist, ready for the signal. Further along was Agneya, linked with Pavana. "Let's see who can make a bigger fireball!" I shouted, bracing for the unpredictable recoil of my clumsily controlled fire.
Willow's POV:
My fist hovered mere inches from Luna's face. I was going to land this shot, I told myself. But Luna was a whirlwind of iron control and insane power. Her hand traced over my face so swiftly, I barely noticed. No one came to back me up—were they waiting for a message? Her hand reached my throat. As realization dawned, I glanced back; everyone was frozen in place. The sand particles in the air hung suspended, unmoving like the calm before a summer storm. I spotted Aide-Cadence lounging with his feet up on a table, eating a triangle-cut sandwich. "Come on, Luna, you said you'd take it easy, don't hold them in place like that!" he yelled from the floor.
Luna caressed my cheek with her finger. "Too slow," she murmured, an enigmatic smile playing on her lips. She flicked my cheek as if striking an imaginary carrom piece, but the impact felt like a powerful gust of wind, sending me crashing to the ground. I steadied myself, ensuring Luna was still at a distance. "Be a little lenient, will ya?" Cadence said, holding up his egg sandwich as if offering peace. "Sorry! Am I being too rough, Willow?" Luna inquired, levitating effortlessly. "No, this is EXACTLY what I need," I responded, a faint smile tugging at my lips. "Then come at me again," Luna challenged, her words dripping with a teasing beckon.
Aurelia's POV:
Time froze. The world around me became a silent, still tableau. My sister's fierce gaze was locked onto mine, her movements a mere shadow in my vision. I saw the determination in her eyes, the fire that drove her to push me beyond my limits. Luna's presence commanded the space between us. Her every move was calculated, precise, and I felt the weight of her expectations bearing down on me. The intensity of her powers had left me paralyzed, trapped in this surreal state of suspended animation. My heart raced, but my body remained unresponsive, as if time itself had conspired to hold me captive.
Frustration built within me, a storm of emotions swirling beneath the surface. I wanted to break free, to prove myself, to show them how much I've grown. But for now, I was stuck in this moment, a prisoner of my own mind and the mysterious pause of time. I was helpless. The silence was deafening, the stillness suffocating, and all I could do was wait for the world to start moving again.
