The campus was a hive of whispers and furtive glances. Rumors had a way of spreading like wildfire, and this time, Leehan was at the center of it. Whispers of scandal and deceit followed him wherever he went, tarnishing his once-spotless reputation.

Taesan, engrossed in his studies, paid little attention to the gossip. He had no interest in the petty dramas that seemed to captivate everyone else. But as the days passed, he couldn't help but notice the change in Leehan. The once-confident and charismatic student now walked with a shadow over his face, his usual smile replaced by a look of weary resignation.

One afternoon, Taesan was in the library when he overheard a group of students talking in hushed tones.

"Did you hear? Leehan's been accused of cheating on his exams."

"I heard he bribed the professors to get good grades."

"Someone said he was caught stealing from the student council funds."

Taesan frowned, his curiosity piqued. He knew Leehan could be many things, but a cheater and a thief? It didn't seem to fit. He decided to confront Leehan about it, hoping to clear the air.

He found Leehan sitting alone in the courtyard, staring blankly at the ground. Taesan approached him cautiously.

"Leehan," he called out, his voice gentle.

Leehan looked up, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and sadness. "What do you want, Taesan?"

Taesan sat down beside him. "I've been hearing some things... rumors about you. I wanted to know if they're true."

Leehan's expression hardened. "And why do you care? Aren't you the one who said you didn't give a damn about me?"

Taesan sighed. "I don't believe the rumors. I just wanted to hear your side of the story."

Leehan's eyes softened slightly. "It's all lies. Someone's trying to ruin me, and I don't know why."

Before Taesan could respond, a group of students approached them, their faces twisted with anger.

"There he is! The one who started all the rumors!" one of them shouted, pointing at Taesan.

Taesan's eyes widened in shock. "What? I didn't start anything!"

"Don't lie," another student said. "We saw the messages. They came from your account."

Leehan's face turned pale as he looked at Taesan. "Is this true? Did you really do this?"

Taesan shook his head vehemently. "No! I swear, I didn't do anything. Someone must have hacked my account."

But the damage was done. The students glared at Taesan, their accusations ringing in his ears. Leehan stood up, his eyes filled with betrayal.

"I thought we were starting to understand each other," Leehan said, his voice trembling with emotion. "But I guess I was wrong."

Taesan reached out, but Leehan stepped back, his expression cold. "Stay away from me, Taesan. I don't want anything to do with you."

As Leehan walked away, Taesan felt a pang of regret. The fragile truce they had been building was shattered, replaced by a renewed sense of animosity. He knew he had to find a way to clear his name and prove his innocence, but for now, he was left alone, surrounded by the whispering shadows of doubt and mistrust.
