8:23amStanding in Rome's hospital room—Essence watched as he got dress in the clothes she'd brought him. His head was bandaged at the top where he'd been cut at from hitting his head on the steering wheel. Essence had received a call from an unknown number at seven this morning and to her surprise it was Rome calling from his hospital bed. The bed he woke up handcuffed too after being found passed out drunk by a police office. Clearly heavily intoxicated.
Lucky enough for him—Essence talked the police officers into letting him off with a fine and a warning considering no one was hurt in the accident except for Rome in his car. Still, Essence was highly pissed with him.
"You just staring at me, what you thinking about?" Rome asked as she slipped the shirt on.
Essence shook her head. "Just finished getting dress so I can drop you off home. I have somewhere to be Rome." She sighed.
Rome sighed. "I know you upset with me and I apologized for my actions and for even calling you but I needed you. I woke up handcuffed to a fucking bed, I ain't know what else to do Essie." He frowned.
"Calling your lawyer would've sufficed." She raised an eyebrow.
Rome furrowed his eyebrows and nodded his head. Thinking she meant him calling her was a problem."You know what—you ain't even gotta' wait for me. I'll call somebody else to come get me. Ion need you."
Essence chuckled despite feeling her heart sting. "You don't need me but you called me to get your ass out of trouble. I'm not the one who made you get drunk and get behind a wheel like a dumb ass so don't take your frustrations out on me." She said before turning around and leaving.
Rome wasn't her man so she didn't have to stand around and deal with his shit when she had shit of her own to be dealing with.
Getting back to her car—Essence slammed her door feeling frustrated with Rome. She didn't know why, but him saying he didn't need her hurt her feelings more than she thought it would. Here she was thinking they were getting back to being friends with each other but clearly that was only one sided.
Taking a deep breath, she started her car and headed off to Desiree's appointment. It had gotten rescheduled until today and like she'd promised her, Essence was going to make sure she showed up. Desiree was a sweet girl who was dealt a bad hand but Essence was adamant on helping her turn her life around.
Getting to the office, she walked into the waiting room and seen Desiree sitting there. "Hey beautiful." She smiled and sat down next to her. "How are you and the baby doing?"
Desiree weakly smiled. "We're doing okay." She mumbled. "Actually there's something I wanted to talk to you about."
Essence nodded her head. "Okay, what is it?"
