"No, look pon mi good Sir", Penny remarks to the man who asked to get her number, "mi look like mi in need a nutn?".

Nicole hides her laugh in my shoulder, snickering her way out of making eye contact with an annoyed looking Penny.

We're standing in the parking lot of Devon House, I took them to get ice cream and we were on our way to my car when this guy got out of his friend's ride and decided he wanted to ask her a few questions.

Penny is one very independent female, she does not care who you are and what you do for a living, she's not impressed.

Plus she mostly date a certain type a male.

She has a type.

She likes tall dark skins, preferably a doctor or a lawyer.

She's a girl who sets her priorities straight and she always gets what she wants.

What pissed her off more was the fact that he got out of the passenger seat of his friend's car. She's absolutely livid about it.

"Neva say that my girl, mi see yuh and mi like yuh so wah wrong if mi get yuh numba?".

The way her face morphs into utter disgust made me laugh. She looks him up and down holding the same expression.

"You wouldn't know wah fi do wid mi if yuh get the chance, goodnight".

She straight up walks away from him and to us.

"Mi hate man yuh fuck", she shudders in disgust at the statement.

"I can imagine", I answer with raised eyebrows.

I don't know how anybody dates Penny, she has hated men since I've known her and I've known her for years so just imagine how long she's hated them.

I tapped through statuses lazily on my phone as Penny mumbled and argued about her hatred for the male species. I always forget that I still have a bunch of people from high school, college and work in my phone because we barely ever talk.

I have around 400 contacts and they are all active.

How?.

I don't remember.

My number was changed and most of them popped back into my contacts. I had more than 400.

I do enjoy the little chats every now and again. The statuses get interesting from time to time too.

"Why you so quiet?", Penny asks from the passenger seat.

"People business she a fass inna".

"Mi just a look", I put my phone down to start the car.

"Why Milando a come back Thursday?", Nicole asks.

"Said his grandfather is sick so he's going to Atlanta to see him".

"Which side of the family?".

"His father".

"Oh".

"Aunty Kay said Nicario managed to pay off the system in order to keep Bianca from facing charges".

I knew that would happen.

"I figured as much".

Penny shook her head, "dem determined".

"Very, how the sister a behave?".

I shrugged, "nuh know, nuh care".

Really and truly nuh care.
