Heartbeat - Part 15

( be prepared and grab some tissues cause it's gonna be a sad chapter )

Justin's POV:

I think these were the last hours I could hear this heartbeat, Adelaide was now in the hospital. I was sitting by her side, resting my head on her stomach...why did this have to happen...we just had our son a week ago...why.

Doctor: * walks in the room * Mr. Bieber I think you should go home, it takes hours maybe even days until she...you know
Justin: * shakes his head * until she'll die...no I'm not gonna leave her side
Doctor: Mr. Bieber you need to go home, you have a son you need to take care of
Justin: * doesn't respond *
Doctor: * sighs * it's your decision * leaves the room *

I watched Adelaide slowly breathing in and out tears started to fill my eyes. I laid my head on her stomach again and cried silently until I heard a weak voice.

Adelaide: * slowly wakes up/very weak * J-Justin
Justin: Adelaide...
Adelaide: * weak * w-what h-happened
Justin: you broke down Adelaide
Adelaide: * shocked * t-the t-time h-has c-come, I-isn't I-it
Justin: * nods sadly *
Adelaide: * tears rolling down and whispers * I-I'm sorry
Justin: * wipes her tears * shh please don't cry
Adelaide: Justin
Justin: what is it Adelaide
Adelaide: c-can you p-promise m-me something
Justin: * caresses her cheek * anything
Adelaide: w-when I'm dead look in the bedside table, t-there is something for you
Justin: * tearfully * I will
Adelaide: * smile's a little * thank you
Justin: * confused * for what
Adelaide: everything, for making me happy, for making me feel loved, for giving me a son
Justin: * gets more tears in his eyes * no need to thank me Adelaide, I love you no matter what
Adelaide: please don't cry, not because of me Justin...I'm not worth it
Justin: don't say that Adelaide, you're worth every single tear

With that the tears started rolling down my cheeks. I knew the love of my life, the mother of our son Isaiah, would leave me...soon.

24 hours later

Adelaide was getting weaker every minute, her breathing got harder and her speaking more quiet. I've never left her side in this hours not only once.

Vanessa: * knocks on the door *
Adelaide: * quiet * come in
Vanessa: * walks in the room * Adelaide...
Adelaide: * reaches her hand out * mom...
Vanessa: * takes her hand and whispers * oh sweetie, I'm so sorry
Justin: I'll leave you two alone
Adelaide: * grabs his hand/weak * n-no Justin don't g-go
Justin: * nods * okay
Vanessa: * sighs * I wished it would be me with the heart defect, I really do so that you could live your life with Justin and Isaiah
Adelaide: * shakes her head slowly * no m-mom don't say t-that
Vanessa: * tears rolling down * I will miss you so much you know that
Adelaide: * tears rolling down as well * w-we'll see each other again s-some time or o-other, you know...in h-heaven
Vanessa: * nods and stands up * yeah...in heaven * kisses her forehead and is about to walk out of the room * goodbye Adelaide
Adelaide: goodbye...mommy
Justin: * looks at her sadly * you okay...Adelaide
Adelaide: * nods * as l-long as you're by m-my side

I sighed...was this really happening...was the love of my life...the mother of our son really dying. Everyone said their last goodbyes to Adelaide and if you're wondering why they were doing this now. Well nobody wanted to be there when it was time if you know what I mean...except me...I couldn't leave her alone now. I couldn't just say goodbye, leave the room and just let her die all by herself. She needed me and I knew that.

Adelaide: * holding baby Isaiah/weak * I love you so much Isaiah, I'll be watching over you and your daddy in heaven...be good to your daddy
Baby Isaiah: * gurgling softly *
Adelaide: * caresses his head *

It was Hailey's idea to bring Isaiah to the hospital so that Adelaide could hold him and see him for the very last time.

Adelaide: J-Justin
Justin: what is it, sweetie
Adelaide: c-can you promise m-me something else
Justin: * nods *
Adelaide: p-promise me to do whatever it takes to protect our s-son okay, h-he needs you n-now as much as you need h-him...tell Isaiah about o-our story and t-tell him how much his m-mother loved him, tell him that e-every day
Justin: I promise
Adelaide: * smile's a little * thank you J-Justin...i love you

At this moment I knew what she was doing...she was saying goodbye.

Justin: * gets tears in his eyes * are you saying goodbye Adelaide
Adelaide: I t-think it's time for m-me to go now

I looked at her...my heart slowly falling into two pieces, I looked into her beautiful light brown eyes and knew this was the last time I would see them.

Adelaide: * looks down at Isaiah * goodbye Isaiah, my baby boy
Baby Isaiah: * fusses a little *
Adelaide: * kisses his forehead one last time and gives him to Justin*
Justin: * puts him in his car seat and buckles him up * there you go buddy

I called Hailey to come and get Isaiah cause she was in the waiting room then few seconds later she came in the room, took Isaiah and left...she couldn't see Adelaide in the eyes cause it was too painful knowing that she's dying soon.

Adelaide: you know what i figured out today
Justin: what
Adelaide: maybe god has a bigger plan for me than I had for myself like this journey never ends like you were sent to me because I'm dying to help me through all of this
Justin: * puts his hand on her cheek *
Adelaide: * whispers softly * you're my angel
Justin: * breathes shakily and sniffs *
Adelaide: I l-love you Justin, p-please never f-forget that
Justin: I love you too Adelaide, so much

She smiled...oh god how much I would miss this wonderful and beautiful face, I played my head on her chest and cried like a little baby.

Adelaide: * kisses his head * I love you Justin

I could hear her heartbeat...and I could hear it...I could hear it...but then...it was gone...

Justin: * lifts up his head * Adelaide
Adelaide: * doesn't respond *
Justin: * starts crying * no Adelaide no

No oh god no...she's gone...the love of my life is gone...forever

Justin: * pulls her close to his chest and cries even more * NO ADELAIDE PLEASE NO OH GOD NO PLEASE!!!
