*.*.*.*Olivia's POV*.*.*.*

Sunday morning rain is falling. I really am not in the mood to be bored today so I grab my phone to see if Brett would like to hang out.

I dial his number and wait for him to answer. "Hi, babe." He answers. "What's up?"

"I wanted to know if you'd like to hang out today?" I smile just at the sound of his voice. He's been so distant lately.

"Uh, actually I'm in Nevada with my uncle and I'll be here for about 3 days."

"Oh, when were you going to tell me that?" I ask, smile fading.

"I knew I forgot something! I'm so sorry." He replies.

"Yeah-." I begin to say, but Brett cuts me off, "Olivia, I'll call you back, someone's on the other line. Love you, bye."

"Yeah, you too." I hang up.

I sit for a minute and try to figure out why Brett is acting the way he is, but I find it hard to judge someone so soon. I don't want to jump to conclusions. I place my phone on its charger and continue to binge watch Grey's Anatomy.

An hour and a half into my bingeing my phone begins to ring.

"Olivia?" A familiar voice answers.

"Nathan?"

"Yeah, it's me." There's a long pause. "I got your number from your dad, I hope that's fine."

"Oh, of course, it's fine." I reply.

"I was wandering if you would like to come over to my house today?" he finally speaks. I literally have nothing else to do and we are just going to hang out, how bad can that be?

"Sure, why not?" I smile.

"Awesome, I'll see you in a few?"

"Yup." I end the phone call.

I put on some grey joggers, a white t-shirt, red flannel, converse and a grey beanie. I jog downstairs, grab my keys off the counter and run to my jeep. I follow the directions Nathan has sent me and I'm on my way.

...

I walk up to his door and knock. His dad, John, opens the door. "Olivia." He grins.

"John." I return the gesture.

"I'll be heading out, so you guys will have the whole house to yourselves. Don't do anything I would do." He winks.

"Ew. I mean, okay. Goodbye, sir." I nod and fake gag when he passes me earning a giggle from him. I walk inside to be greeted by the cutest toddler.

"Well hello there, cutie." I pick her up, "What's your name?"

"Paisley." she giggles, "What's your name?"

"Olivia." I smile making her giggle again.

"Paisley, there you are!" Nathan enters the living room, where Paisley and I stand. "Hey, Olivia." he breathes. He takes Paisley from my arms and lowers her to the ground, "Mom will be here in a minute go finish getting ready."

"Okay," she says but before she leaves she tugs at the end Nathan's shirt and he drops to her. She whispers, "Olivia's very pretty." I can still hear her even though she whispered. I blush when Nathan looks up at me, "I agree. Olivia is very pretty." he smiles. "Go get ready." she takes off to her room and I'm left standing there, awkwardly, with Nathan.

"Cozy home, Nathan."

"Please call me Nate." he suggests. I nod and I rock from toe to heel feeling hella awkward, now. But a pang of relief fills my body when their front door swings open, "Hey, mom." Nate's mom enters and greets us and then she leaves with Paisley.

"Bye, Olivia." Paisley waves and I wave back with a smile. Why wasn't I blessed with a little sister?

After the door shuts I turn to Nate, "So what do you want to do?"

"Since it won't stop raining until 8 tonight, we can just chill and watch a few movies. If you would like that." he suggests.

"That sounds nice!" I grin. Nate grabs my hand and escorts me to his room. He takes a few blankets from his closet and lays them across his large bed. "You sit here and make yourself comfortable, I'm going to go grab some snacks."

I do as I am told and I plop down onto his comfortable bed. Quite a few minutes later Nate appears in his doorway with a giant bowl of popcorn, different types of junk food, and sodas. "I didn't know what you liked." He shrugs. After he sets the large amount of snacks on his bed he takes his shirt off.

"Whoa!" I nearly scream.

"What...what's wrong?" he hesitates.

"You, why are you taking your shirt off?" I ask and he laughs.

"Sorry it's a force of habit. I can put it back on."

"No, this is your house, do what you want." I say, apologetically. I'd be lying if I said he didn't have a nice body. His tattoos give me shivers, I'm not used to them but I kind of like them. I want to trace them with my fingertips. How did I end up here? I went from being this socially awkward, PTSD girl to hanging out with guys I've only met twice. I wouldn't have been able to crack through my shell without the help of Teagan, Gale and Brett. Oh shit! Brett!

"I need to make a quick phone call." I run to the hallway. I dial Brett's number and wait for him to answer. He doesn't pick up. I try 3 more times but he doesn't pick up. I breathe out in frustration.

"Everything okay?" Nate enters.

"Honestly, I don't know. Brett won't answer my  phone calls. I hope he's okay." I look down to my feet.

"I'm pretty sure he's okay. Brett's a pretty tough guy. His phone is probably dead, or somthing." Nate wraps his arm around me and leads me back into his room. "Have you ever seen Fight Club?" I shake my head no. "You're going to love it!"

...

After watching two movies my phone vibrates, I have a text message from Brett.

'In Vegas. Busy. I'll call you tomorrow.' I frown at the text. What are you doing in Vegas that occupies you to the point where you can't call your girlfriend?

"Do you have a certain time you need to be home?"

"No, I don't want to go home." I say in a whisper.

"Stay here as long as you want. I enjoy your company. Actually a few buddies of mine and I are supposed to get together and vandalize a parking garage of a building that banned us. Want to join? It'll be fun."

"That's kind of risky. What if we get caught?" I ask.

"That's the best part, trying not to get caught. It makes your adrenaline pump like never before." H smiles a large dimpled smile. "Come on! It'll be great!"

"Fine. But if I get arrested and have to share a cell with a lesbian that doesn't at least look like Ruby Rose I'm murdering you!" I say and he laughs.

A/N: tsk tsk...Brett. What is he up to?
