INTERVIEW BETWEEN CAESAR FLICKERMAN AND DELLA FIREWELL, 12.13.67 ADD

[Begin transcript 00:01:42]

CAESAR FLICKERMAN: Now that we've got the pleasantries out of the way, I simply must admit — when we first met on this very stage, six months ago, very few people — including, I hate to say, myself — suspected that you'd be sitting before me today. Now don't get me wrong, Della, I do love an underdog, and I was secretly rooting for you all along. [Winks at the crowd, who laughs] But I just have to ask . . . what did you think about that moment? How did you feel? Were you confident about your win?

DELLA FIREWELL: To be perfectly honest with you, Caesar, even I felt certain my days were numbered. I certainly don't blame you — or anybody — for any assumptions you may have made about my chances. But I am truly grateful to be here today, and I hope to make the Capitol proud as a worthy Victor.

CF: Well, let's talk about those chances, because in some ways, your win was unprecedented in the Hunger Games. This was the first ever games where a tribute's status was mistakenly recorded due to malfunctioning technology. You weren't aware of it while in the arena, of course, but I'm sure you've heard by now about the motion to strip you of your Victor title and award it posthumously to Kel Masterson, the runner up of your games, due to the production error from the Gamemakers' room. How do you feel about that?
