Anna sat on the bed as time passed her.
She looked at Loki who like her couldn't process that they were almost like soulmates.
If not almost then completely.
"Odin refused to tell me," Loki said.
Her eyes softened "Because you used the tesseract to kill hundreds of people" she said.
"Even in death he continues to lie to me" Loki said.
"He didn't lie to you.
At the time you didn't even know who I was and even if you did you probably wouldn't have cared" she said with a small smile.
"You read me too well darling" he said.
"We spend every day together.
I had to pick something up" she said.
She stood up.
"I will continue to research and maybe I will find more detail but I don't expect I will.
If you don't mind just for the rest of the week no training" she said.
"You're progressing well.
In a week or so I won't continue to train you" he said.
"Will we still spend time together?" she asked.
"Of course darling" he said.
She smiled before leaving the room.
She couldn't stop smiling as she made her way to the library.
Before she reached the two golden doors she heard cheering.
She looked over to see Thor celebrating his return with some of the Asgardian warriors.
He suddenly looked at her and ran over.
"Hello Thor," she said softly.
"Ah this is an exciting day, isn't it?
My return could not have gone at a greater time" he said.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
He looked at her.
"Has Jane not contacted you?" he asked.
"She left after we had an argument so I suppose she still doesn't like me" Anna said.
"That's too bad.
I thought you two were like sisters" he said.
Anna laughed.
"No, far from it actually.
We met in college and were close enough then to start living with each other.
We have nothing really alike and now she wants to be nowhere near me" Anna said.
"I'm sure you two will patch things up," Thor said.
Anna smiled softly knowing that was unlikely.
"So what was your big news?" she asked.
"Me and Jane are officially lovers.
I plan to marry her at the end of the year so I can carry on my father's name" Thor said.
"Wow, things move very quickly here.
I almost forgot" she said.
"Has Loki not made that obvious?" Thor asked.
"No," she said.
"Well allow me.
It is normal in Asgard to marry quickly.
Marriage is very important here" he said.
Anna looked at him as her heart stopped.
At this point, that was how her life was headed.
"I would have thought that while I was away my brother would have made his feelings for you quite clear but I suppose not" Thor's words sent her into shock.
His feelings?
Why today?
Why was everything about that today?
Her head was spinning.
"What feelings?" Anna asked.
Thor realised his mistake when he saw how pale she had gotten.
It was obvious that she didn't expect any of what he was saying.
"Before I left Loki and I spoke and he said that he found you the most darling woman he had met" Thor said.
"Just a minute ago he was shocked to find that we were connected.
I don't believe for a second that he said that" Anna said.
"What?" Thor was asking the questions now.
"Loki has a connection to the Tesseract.
He is drawn to its power.
I am the tesseract" she said.
"Ah, you both are bonded.
Well if I were you I would go find my brother and get this awkward stage out of the way" Thor said.
She laughed awkwardly.
"We're not in an awkward stage," she said.
"Sure you're not," Thor said.
He laughed.
"Shut up," she said.
"You both are taking longer than expected.
By now you should be lovers.
But I suppose you both are too cowardice to get what you want" Thor teased.
She rolled her eyes.
"Thank you but at the moment there is no room for that.
Now if you excuse me" she said before running into the library.
She hated it but Thor was right.
