I can't bear to see her like this

I can't bear to see her like this.
Her precious tears fall like a waterfall, unstoppable, spilling over from her heartache.
Everyone tried to soothe Tara, but she couldn't stop crying.
I wanted to understand her pain, her anxiety, and the grief of losing her mother.
But I didn't know how to console her, not as a husband.
Her mother's death just a day ago cast a shadow of sorrow over all of us.
Why does God always take the good ones away too soon, pulling them from earth to heaven?
Tara's mom was no longer with us, and Rivan was lost in silence, unable to speak through his grief.
I stepped closer to Tara, brushing her shoulder lightly. She turned to me, and without a word, threw her arms around me.
She sobbed against my chest, her fingers gripping the back of my shirt.
I held her, gently patting her forehead and her back.
It stunned me—how something as simple as a hug could calm my Tara.
I will do anything to see her happy again.

Tara's POV

I brushed my teeth with a toothbrush, glimpsing at the mirror

I brushed my teeth with a toothbrush, glimpsing at the mirror. I saw a clumsy and awkward person staring back at me.

I came here to take Ishaan's diary and uncover his past.

But what am I doing instead?

Fighting over a pink teddy bear with Ishaan and enjoying brownies made by Aunt Rachana.

I'm a flawed person, who doesn't know how to finish a task.

I created this mess by sneaking into Ishaan's room. I'm such an idiot.

"I'm going to take Ishaan's old diary once he's asleep, and then I'll leave the mansion early in the morning. The mission is still on," I whispered, staring at the mirror.

I stepped out of the washroom and headed toward the single mattress on the floor.

Suddenly, I felt Ishaan clench my wrist, stopping me in my tracks.

I turned, furrowing my brows at him. He didn't say anything, but his actions stunned me.

Before I knew it, my feet left the ground as he lifted me into his arms. In shock, I wrapped my arms around his neck.
