(Y/n)'s POV:

As we strolled outside, I didn't bother wasting time. "Let's cut the small talk, Shin. I know you still don't trust me. That's fine. I'm just here to make sure we're on the same page."Shin's eyes narrowed, his voice cold. "You're not planning to use me for something, are you? I may not be able to hear your thoughts clearly, but I need you to be upfront."
"Oh, right! Straight to the point, then." I reached into my pocket, pulling out a business card. "I need your help with something, and your ESP would be... quite useful."
Before he could react, I grabbed his hand and placed the card in his palm. "W-what!?"
I tilted my head, feigning innocence. "You'll need my number if you want to keep tabs on me, Shin."
"W-wait! I didn't ask for this! And I haven't agreed to anything!" He yanked his hand back, still clutching the card. "You expect me to help you behind Mr. Sakamoto's back?"
I gave a playful smirk. "Sakamoto? Oh, I don't mind if he finds out. He could be useful too, but unlike you, he can't read minds. And you? You're starting to get more interesting."
He grumbled, scratching his head but never taking his suspicious eyes off me. "Alright, you're offering a deal, but what do I, or the others, get out of this?"
I stepped closer, watching him tense up as he instinctively backed away. "You want to know more about me, right? You want to dig deeper into my mind, riiiight?"
I closed the distance again, voice low and tempting. "Let me spell it out, Shin. I'm not a good person. I'm rotten to the core. Who knows what horrors I could bring to Sakamoto's family... Don't you want to keep your enemies close to protect what you care about? Your home, your friends? You want to know what I'm hiding... and I know you do."
His gaze wavered just slightly. My grin widened.
Shin's POV:
--
The way she stood so close, like a predator playing with its food, made me want to step back even more. But I didn't. I couldn't."You want to know more about me, right? You want to dig deeper into my mind, riiiight?" Her voice was teasing, a dangerous edge laced in her words as she took another step closer, her eyes gleaming with that sinister amusement. I clenched my fists, but she didn't flinch.
I knew she was toying with me. But she was also right, and that's what made it worse. I did want to know more. The mystery around her, the walls she kept up so tightly-it gnawed at me. The fact that I couldn't break through those walls with my ESP only made me want to dig deeper. And she knew it.
"You think you can manipulate me into helping you because of some cryptic promise? You think I'll just go along with whatever you're planning?"
She laughed softly, taking another step forward, her breath practically brushing against my ear. "It's not manipulation if you already want to do it. You're curious about me, Shin. You hate not knowing what I'm hiding, don't you? And that's exactly why you'll help me. You'll try to get closer, to figure me out."
Her words slithered through my mind, and I hated how much sense they made. But it was more than that. There was something darker, something off about her. The way she could just waltz in and out of Sakamoto's life, pretend to care for Hana, while keeping this eerie distance... It didn't sit right with me.
