The morning light filtered through the grand windows of the royal chambers, casting a soft, golden glow over the room. The thick stone walls of the palace seemed warmer, more welcoming today, though they were usually cold and imposing. Amira leaned back in the bed, her body still recovering from the strain of childbirth, but her heart full as she cradled their newborn son, Nathan, against her chest.

In the center of the room, Kira was seated on a plush rug, her favorite toy—a wooden horse carved by Aleksander himself—in her hands. She glanced up every now and then, her eyes filled with curiosity and delight as she watched the new baby sleep, occasionally casting a glance at her father.

Aleksander, standing near the window with a quiet, watchful expression, turned his gaze from the view of the gardens below to the scene inside. His dark eyes softened, a smile tugging at his lips as he watched his daughter play and his wife hold their son. For a man who had lived through centuries of war, deception, and political turmoil, moments like this felt almost too good to be real.

"She's going to be an excellent big sister," Aleksander murmured as he moved from the window, his voice warm and low. He sat down beside Amira on the bed, brushing a lock of her dark hair behind her ear before glancing down at Nathan. "And he will be a strong leader."

Amira smiled at his words, her heart swelling with pride. She looked at Nathan's tiny face, peaceful in sleep, and then at Kira, who was watching them with a wide grin. "We've built a beautiful family," she whispered, her eyes meeting Aleksander's. "Despite everything, this—this is what makes it all worth it."

Aleksander nodded, the weight of his responsibilities always lingering in his thoughts, but here, with his family, it felt lighter. His hand rested on Amira's as he glanced at their son. "Nathan is a good name," he mused softly. "He will grow into it—just as Kira has grown into her role as the princess."

Kira, hearing her name, abandoned her toy and rushed over, climbing up onto the bed with a giggle. "Papa! Can I hold the baby?" she asked eagerly, her tiny hands already reaching out.

Amira and Aleksander exchanged a look, a mix of amusement and caution. With a gentle nod, Amira adjusted her hold on Nathan, guiding Kira carefully. "Sit here beside me, and you can hold him for just a little while," Amira instructed softly.

Kira's eyes widened with awe as Nathan was placed gently in her lap, her small hands supporting him as best as she could. She looked down at her baby brother with wonder, her tiny mouth forming a silent "wow" as she watched him wriggle slightly in his sleep.

Aleksander placed a steady hand on Kira's back, his presence reassuring. "You're doing well, my little princess," he said quietly. "One day, he'll be looking up to you, just like you look up to your mother and me."

Kira beamed, her excitement barely contained. "I'll teach him how to dance!" she declared proudly. "And how to play with the horses."

Amira laughed softly, leaning into Aleksander's side as she watched their daughter. "And he'll love you for it," she said. Her hand gently stroked Kira's hair, a moment of tranquility settling over the room.

As Kira held Nathan carefully, her eyes full of fascination, Amira glanced up at Aleksander with a soft smile. "Remember how Kira showed her powers as a baby? She was so young, barely crawling, and already casting little shadows and rays of sunlight."

Aleksander smiled at the memory, his dark gaze fond as he looked at Kira. "She's special. Both of you are." He paused, his brow furrowing slightly as his eyes flicked toward Nathan. "But Nathan... I wonder what he'll become. He could be like you—light and shadow. Or... something else entirely."

Amira nodded, her hand resting lightly on Nathan's chest. "Kira is unique, like me, with both the Shadow and Sun inside her. But Nathan... we won't know until he shows us. He could have powers we've never seen before." Her voice was soft, thoughtful, as she considered the possibilities for their son.
