Donghae, Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk were in a taxi to go to the resort to meet their friends. Kyuhyun was scrolling through his phone, his thumb moving in a blur as he checked the latest messages from their group chat. "Guys, we're almost there," he announced, glancing up to see the cityscape gradually morph into a serene countryside.
Seven minutes later, the taxi pulled up to the grand entrance of the resort, a place that seemed to be plucked straight from a postcard. Palm trees swayed in the breeze, their leaves casting dappled shadows across the gleaming white stones of the driveway. The building itself was a stunning blend of modern architecture and tropical charm, with wide archways and a vibrant façade that spoke of warm vacation days ahead. The three of them stepped out, stretching their legs and inhaling the salty sea air that carried the distant sound of waves crashing against the shore.
As they approached the lobby, a flurry of familiar voices and laughter grew louder, and suddenly, Leeteuk, Ryeowook, Yesung, and Heechul emerged from the crowd. The four friends were lounging by the reception desk, sipping on colorful drinks adorned with little paper umbrellas. Spotting Donghae, Kyuhyun, and Eunhyuk, their eyes lit up and they rushed over to greet them. A round of backslaps and bear hugs ensued, the kind that could only come from friends who hadn't seen each other in too long. The tension of the taxi ride melted away as they were enveloped in the warm embrace of camaraderie.
As they all stepped back to catch their breath, Kyuhyun playfully nudged Donghae. "Looks like we're not the only ones who made it," he said, pointing towards a group of figures lounging by the pool in the distance. There they were, the rest of their crew: Hangeng, Kibum, Sungmin, Kangin, and Zhoumi, soaking up the sun, their sunglasses reflecting the azure sky. The sight of them brought a smile to Donghae's face, and he felt a pang of nostalgia for all the good times they'd shared together. It had been a while since all of them had gathered like this, and the anticipation of the days ahead grew stronger.
They all exchanged knowing smiles as they headed towards their friends. The pool area was a picturesque oasis, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of water features. The five of them looked up as the trio approached, their expressions a mix of surprise and delight. "You guys made it!" Hangeng called out, his voice carrying over the gentle murmur of the poolside conversations.
Shindong, lounging on a deck chair, waved them over with an enthusiastic arm flail. His round sunglasses sat atop his head, revealing his mischievous gaze. "Welcome to paradise, or what's left of it with us already here," he quipped, and everyone chuckled. Siwon and Henry looked up from their card game, a table between them laden with snacks and drinks. They greeted Donghae, Kyuhyun, and Eunhyuk warmly, gesturing for them to join.
The room they were staying in was a spacious suite with a balcony overlooking the pool. It had a modern, minimalist vibe with a pop of color here and there that reflected their dynamic personalities. The king-sized beds looked inviting with their crisp, white linens and fluffy pillows. Through an open archway, they could see the living area, where a large TV played the latest music videos, and the kitchen was stocked with snacks and drinks for their late-night cravings. They dropped their bags by the door and headed straight for the balcony, eager to take in the view.
Leeteuk clapped his hands together. "Alright, let's hit the pool!" He was the first to peel off his shirt, revealing a torso that had seen its fair share of gym time. Ryeowook and Yesung followed suit, their smiles growing wider as they stepped into the cool water. Donghae, Kyuhyun, and Eunhyuk didn't waste any time either, changing into their swim shorts and joining the rest of the group. The pool was a perfect temperature, not too cold to make them gasp, but just right to provide relief from the tropical heat. They splashed around, their laughter echoing off the tiles.
But Zhoumi hung back, his eyes darting between the pool and the spa entrance. He had never been much of a swimmer, preferring the calm solace of the spa to the raucous fun of the pool. "Guys, I think I'll skip this round," he said, his voice a little quieter than usual. "I've got an appointment at the spa. You know, to relax."
Shindong shot him a knowing smile. "Ah, the spa king," he teased. "Sungmin, come with me to grab some snacks. We can't let Zhoumi have all the pampering." Sungmin nodded eagerly, hopping out of the pool. His lean body glistened with water as he grabbed a towel and slung it over his shoulders.
While the rest of the group continued to frolic in the water, Zhoumi retreated into the cool, quiet sanctum of the resort's spa. The soothing scents of lavender and sandalwood filled the air as he sank into a plush chair for his massage. The skilled masseuse worked out the tension in his shoulders, and he couldn't help but let out a contented sigh. As the minutes ticked by, his muscles melted away, and his mind grew still.
Meanwhile, the sun dipped closer to the horizon, casting a warm, golden light across the pool area. Shindong and Sungmin returned with a tray of snacks that included tropical fruits and crunchy chips, the perfect mix of health and indulgence. They set the tray down on a nearby table, and the smell of the food wafted through the air, making the guys' stomachs rumble. At 6:42 PM, the group finally decided to call it a day in the pool, their laughter trailing as they climbed out, dripping water onto the hot stone tiles.
They all piled into the suite, their energy buzzing as they dried off and changed into comfortable resort wear. The air conditioning was a welcome respite from the humidity outside, and the coolness of the room made them all feel revitalized. They gathered around the dining table, sharing stories of their recent adventures and misadventures, while they feasted on the snacks Shindong and Sungmin had brought.
As the evening grew closer, the conversation shifted to their plans for the night. "We should check out that beach party everyone's been talking about," suggested Heechul, his eyes glinting with excitement. "It's supposed to be epic." The others murmured in agreement, except for Zhoumi, who was still in his spa-induced bliss. He looked up from his chair, where he was sipping a cup of herbal tea. "I'd rather have a quiet night in," he said, his voice still carrying a hint of serenity.
The group considered their options, and in the end, decided to respect Zhoumi's need for rest. They decided to split into two groups: those who wanted to party and those who preferred a more relaxed evening. Leeteuk, Heechul, and Yesung, fueled by the adrenaline of reunion, were eager to hit the beach. They changed into their party outfits, spraying cologne and fixing their hair in the mirror. The sound of their laughter and the beat of the music from the beach grew faint as they disappeared into the night.
