Summary- Pete is feeling down and Kao comforts him.

Continuation of 'I'm Here for you' and They are married but not registered yet.

Kao was returning from his classes, he had just gotten out of the motorcycle taxi and was about to walk in the house where they had been living ever since Pete's father passed away. He was about to enter when he heard Pete's car enter their home.

Pete walked hastily towards Kao and instantly hugged him as soon as he was within arm's reach. He thumped into Kao's arms who stumbled a bit on the impact.

"Hey, baby!" Kao said softly. "Hey! I just need a hug." Pete grumbled in his neck. Kao didn't say anything instead warped his arms around Pete. "Let's go inside?" Kao said softly. Pete nodded.

"You wanna order in?" Kao asked. "No, can we cook Saphgetti together?" Pete asked softly. "Sure! Go and take a bath, I'll boil the noodles and join you." Pete nodded and went ahead.

Kao walked downstairs freshly bathed when he heard 'Fireproof' by 1D. He wanted to ask Pete what was wrong, but he knew Pete wouldn't tell him, so he let him be. When he walked in, he saw Pere washing the vegetables. So he went and checked on the noodles and started to add ingredients to the pan.

Pete cut the vegetables while Kao was rinsing the spaghetti and adding sauces. Pete bought the vegetables for Kao leaned his head on Kao's shoulder and breathed in. Kao looked to his side and kissed his head. They stood silently while Kao added the vegetables and Pete hugged him from his back.

"Kao," Pete called out

"Kao," Pete called out. "Hmm.." Kao hummed. "Am I doing a good job as the CEO?" Pete whispered. Kao understood something must've happened at the shareholder meeting today, so he approached the topic carefully. "What do you mean?"

"Today, we had a shareholding meeting as I told you. The elders brought up how there has been a slight downfall ever since I took over and how I am not even trying.." Pete explained. Kao smiled as he stirred the pot one last time and turned around in Pete's arms after he turned the stove on low steam.

"That's okay, Pete. It would've been more suspicious if you didn't even lag once. That's okay. Pete, you had to take over after Poh passed away. Yes, he taught you beforehand but you never experienced it firsthand. Considering the situation you are doing a great job." Kao explained.

He wrapped his arms around Pete's shoulder and caressed softly. "You know the saying, 'keep your friends close but your enemies closer'? That is true, instead of feeling bad about it, why don't you ask them what you could do better? They are the only ones who can guide you. Take feedback from your employees.

It's fine if you lose something cause that is how you will learn." Kao encouraged Pete. Pete nodded understanding leaned in to kiss Kao softly and then pulled away.

"Pete, can you set the table?" Pete nodded and did as ordered. They ate in silence but it wasn't awkward. This was what both of them yearned for. They were together in silence as they spent time together. After eating, they cleaned up, Pete volunteered to wash the dishes while Kao locked up.

"Do you think Poh is proud of me?" Pete asked as they settled in bed watching a show. "Hell yeah! Is that even a question? Pete, you aren't that grumpy kid, who used to beat up others for fun, nor are you the asshole who slept around. You work now, put in an effort for everything. You don't just spend money meaninglessly and best of all you care about others. He loved the older version of you but for sure adores this one." Kao said. Pete smiled and cuddled into Kao.

He didn't even know when Kao became his safe heaven

He didn't even know when Kao became his safe heaven. But he was so glad he did, he loved how he could let go and be candid with him. He could be himself when he could blurb out whatever he wanted and whatever he did. Kao would never judge him. It also scared him but it comforted him.

"Kao, I love you," Pete said. "I'm glad you do, we are practically married. It'd be awkward if you didn't." Kao chuckled. "Did you have to ruin the movement?" Pete rolled his eyes.

"I love you too. Sooo much." Kao said as he kissed his head. "Pete if we renewed or had a proper marriage like signing, what is something you'd do?" Kao asked. "Ummm. probably make you walk down the aisle and keep our suits white. What about you?"

"I like the theme. I'd have Thada walk me down the aisle and have the wedding at the beach. Yeah! That's all." Kao said. "Why did you ask this though? Planning to marry me again?" Pete asked. "Again? Baby, we haven't signed the certificate yet. Now that it's legal, we should do it."

"Good point." Pete nodded. "Soon then...?" Pete asked. "Soon." Kao agreed. They both cuddled and lazily kissed.
