SCENE 1: SUTHIDA'S REFUGE
(In Suthida's living room, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with soft light filtering through the windows. Naya sits on the sofa, appearing nervous, while Suthida prepares tea in the kitchen.)Suthida (with a gentle tone, smiling as she stirs the tea): "Would you like some tea? It helps to calm the nerves."
Naya (forcing a smile, her eyes sad): "Yes, thank you. It'll make me feel a bit better."(Suthida brings two cups of tea, placing them on the coffee table in front of the sofa. She sits beside Naya, looking at her with concern.)
Suthida: "Naya, I want you to know that I'm here to help you work through this. You don't have to live like this."
Naya (biting her lip, hesitant): "I feel like I'm being a burden to you. I don't want you to have trouble because of me."Suthida (with a firm but gentle look): "You're not a burden. We all need support. And I want to be here for you. Life can be too hard to face alone sometimes."
(Naya looks at Suthida, gratitude shining in her eyes, though insecurity still weighs on her.)
Naya: "It's just that... I feel like I'm pulling you into my problems. I don't want to hurt you..."
Suthida (placing her hand over Naya's): "Don't worry. I'm here because I want to be... I'm here to support you, not to judge you."SCENE 2: THE PHONE CALL
(Suthida stands up, resolute, and walks over to the table where her phone rests. The room is silent, but the tension is palpable. She glances at Naya, sensing the fragility of the situation.)
Suthida: "Naya, I'm going to make a phone call. I know a lawyer who might be able to help you. Is that okay?"
Naya (nervously watching Suthida): "Yes, please. Thank you."(Suthida leaves the room to make the call while Naya leans back on the sofa, looking down at her hands, visibly uneasy. Her heart races, a mix of uncertainty and hope swirling within her.)
Suthida (on the phone, with a firm tone): "Hello, Attorney Pravit? This is Suthida. I need to discuss a delicate case. It's about my friend Naya. She's in a really complicated situation, and I want to see how we can help her."
(Naya, listening closely, feels a mix of gratitude and vulnerability, knowing that Suthida is doing everything she can for her.)
Suthida: "It's a divorce case. But things aren't simple... there's domestic violence involved."
(As Suthida speaks, her expression is one of determination and empathy, and Naya questions internally how her life reached this point.)
Suthida: "Yes, exactly. What can we do to ensure her safety? That's crucial, especially given her circumstances."
(Naya clasps her hands in her lap, listening intently. Suthida's words bring a slight wave of hope.)
Suthida (listening carefully to Pravit's instructions): "Understood. So the first step is to gather documentation and information about their relationship—messages, emails, anything that could support her case."
Suthida: "And what about a protective order? Naya needs to be safe. She doesn't deserve to live in fear."
(Naya shudders slightly at these words, the reality of her situation hitting her full force. The idea that there might be a way out starts to feel slightly less distant.)
Suthida: "Perfect. I'll explain everything to Naya, and we'll move forward with the process. We'll meet with you next week. Thank you so much for your help, Pravit."
