𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐃 carpet just 6 days after publicly embarrassing herself was not for the weak. She could feel her heart picking up speed and her palms getting damp.
After taking a few pictures while trying to look as cool, calm, and collectd as possible, she was led towards a reporter.
“Good evening, how are you tonight?”
“A little nervouse honestly.” She answered truthfully.
The reporter playfully laughed, “Can't imagine how you're feeling after your last red carpet.”
Jeez, way to reassure her.
“I feel like my hearts about to beat out of my chest, but what's new?”
“Well before we continue I feel obligated to let you know that we are in fact live.”
“Thankyou, can't risk another slip-up” Jasmine laughs, smiling at the camera.
“Be honest, were you disappointed when you found out Andrew wouldn't be here tonight.”
Jasmine felt disappointment fill her and tried not to frown. Is this going to be how every interview in the future is going to go?
“God, I can't escape this topic, can I!” She to tried to joke, subtly showing her discomfort with the question, before continuing.
“But to be serious, I was more disappointed that he wasn't nominated. Tick, Tick... Boom! was a beautiful film, and the music is fantastic and definitely should've been recognized tonight. Andrew did wonderfully, truly.”
The reporter nodded, “Agree! We also thought it was interesting that you were nominated for a Tony the same year that Andrew won his.”
Jasmine laughed, “That's true! And it was definitely deserved. His performance in Angels in America was something else. I obviously attended that year because of my nomination for My Fair Lady, and even though I didn't win, I'm so glad I got the opportunity to be there.”
The woman hummed in aggrement, then moved on, “Into The Woods opens July 10th, what are you doing to prepare for the show?”
“Well, I was in my high school's production of the show, so it's really about relearning what I already know. Like riding a bike, I suppose! Although beforehand I was the baker's wife, while this time I get the honor of being Cinderella.”
“Lovely! It was wonderful speaking to you, have a nice time!”
Jasmine bid the woman goodbye then walked away, going further down the carpet. The ceremony was set to begin soon, and she had to find her seat.
