Katrina Stephens
Italy! He wants me to go to Italy with him. Is he insane? One look in his eyes and I know what I need to do.Getting out of the car, I see the dejected look on his face, until I reach the driver's side door.
"I'm driving."
"You're coming with me." It's crazy I know, but I knew he was telling the truth about that kiss. Honestly I can't be mad. Hurt...yes, but mad...no. We are not in a relationship. "Thank you." Getting out, cupping my cheeks he kisses me tenderly. The kiss is over as it barely began and he runs to the passenger side and gets in.
"Can you text my boss from my phone?" He does as I ask and then makes some calls as I drive. "Where am I heading?"
"Give me one moment, angel." Sighing I just keep driving towards the airport. "Thanks River. I owe you. Angel take a right. We are heading to private landing strip."
Who the hell is this guy, and what kind of connections does he have?
Am I really doing this? I barely know this man. Yes, he may know my body from that one night, but I know nothing about him.
"My buddy, River knows someone with a plane in this area and he agreed to fly us there."
"Okay." Really, that's all I can say!
"Thank you." Taking my hand he brings it to his lips. This shouldn't make my stomach flutter or my heart beat faster, but it does. "Right here."
Pulling to a stop, I text Josh real quick and know I will have a lot of explaining to do once I'm back. My phone is already blowing up as we race to the plane hand in hand.
"Thank you John. I appreciate this."
"Anything for River. I owe him my life."
"A lot of people do." Who the hell is this River, guy? "Come on angel." Helping me into my seat as instructions are being told. "It's going to be a long flight. About twelve hours."
He's anxious I can tell and I don't know how to help. Grabbing his hand as the plane takes off I look at him. His face pales.
"Are you afraid of flying?"
"You got me." He lets out a shaky laugh. "Never liked it. That's why I was not cut out to be in the army."
"You were in the army."
He lets out a full belly laugh and relaxes some. "Fuck no! I didn't make it out of basics."
It's my turn to laugh when I look at this godly man next to me. "You. I mean look at you. How could they not want you?" I just made his ego bigger, didn't I?
"Can I kiss you?" The question catches me off guard but I nod my head nonetheless. I yelp when my seatbelt is gone and I'm on his lap. "Much better. God, how I have missed you." Blushing hard as he tilts my chin up to stare in his eyes. "Just so you know..." My breath hitches as he kisses behind my ear. "My lips." They trail a kisses up my neck. "Only want." A kiss to the corner of my mouth. "To be kissed by you and only you."
His lips clash to mine and I melt into him. Holding on for dear life as he leaves me breathless and wanting more.
"I want you Katrina, like I have never wanted anyone else before."
Pulling him back into the kiss. I want to believe him desperately. Even when the voice in my head says otherwise. His taunting words linger in the back of my mind. Thankfully Johnny blocks them from appearing with his touch.
Never has a man's touch been so caring but passionate at the same time. Pulling back for much needed air, his seat reclines back and just holds me to him.
"Get some rest angel. We are going to need it." He holds me tighter as I try to get up, so I relent and rest my head on his chest and drift off to sleep. "Baby. Katrina, love." My eyes flutter open. "You need to get in your seat and buckle up. We are going to land soon."
Did I just sleep throughout the rest of the flight?
"Sorry, I didn't realize I was so tired." Lies! I hardly slept this past week and it's probably evident in my appearance.
"Best sleep I had all week, angel." Kissing my head, he holds my hand as we descend.
It dawns on me as we land that I'm meeting his parents. What the hell was I thinking when I agreed to this?
"Maybe I should I just look around while you see your parents."
"Are you crazy woman?" No. Yes...maybe. I don't know. Ugh! "No way in hell am I letting you walk around here by yourself. Everything will be fine." Yeah, says you.
Daniel's parents didn't think I was good for their golden boy. Even if he was anything but that. I still get calls from his mother saying it's all my fault.
"Angel." Looking up at Johnny he his hand extended out to me. "Where did you go?" Nowhere good.
"Sorry, just thinking."
"We're here."I think I'm going to faint. Please don't let me make a fool out of myself. Please don't let me make a fool out of myself. Stumbling I land in strong arms. Go figure, not that I'm complaining. I love his inked out arms. I mean like. Not love. Get a hold of yourself! "I got you, angel."
But for how long?
The negative thoughts leave my mind as he kisses my head. Grabbing my hand we walk towards the hospital. If I could I would be biting my nails right now.
"Stop stressing."
"Easy for you to say. I'm meeting your parents under strange circumstances. We've only been on one date. One date!"
"Breathe angel." I can't! I should be comforting him, but I'm freaking out. I am shit at this! His lips are on mine in a soft kiss. Those big strong hands stroke my cheeks. "Better?"
"Uh huh." Stop smiling like that but the moment he grabs my hand the nerves settle back in. I squeeze his in a comforting manner as we make way to where his father is.
"Jonathan! I told you not to come."
"You said Dad was in the hospital. Of course I would be here."
Standing awkwardly by its cute how he talks to his mom. "Stop fussing over me. I'm fine." I giggle and everyone's eyes are on me.
Fiddlesticks!
"You must be Katrina." I look between mother and son. "I'm Adeline but you can call me Addy. I've heard so much about you." Johnny shuffles from foot to foot. He talked about me to his parents. "That lump on the log in the bed is my husband Arthur but you can call him Artie."
Addy and Artie. Cute.
"Nice to meet you both."
"She is adorable." Oh my, Johnny looks even hotter when he blushes.
"Mom." I giggle and she waves a hand dismissively as if she just didn't embarrass her son.
"There was no reason for you to fly all this way, son. Your mother was over dramatic. You know how she can get sometimes. Worry over everything for nothing. I'm fine."
"What the hell happened? Why is your leg in a cast?"
Now it's the parents turn to blush. Oh my...they didn't! Johnny's mouth drops open. They don't have to say it, it's written all over their faces.
We flew all the way to Italy because his dad broke his leg while getting freaky in the sheets with his wife.
