Seungkwan couldn't breathe. He had dreamed of this moment ever since his parents left, he had dreamed they would come back and save him from his loneliness. His grandmother was amazing and he was grateful for all she did for him, but she still wasn't his parents. And now his dad stood outside his door 10 years later."Seungkwan-"
Seungkwan couldn't help but slam the door in his father's face. He turned back towards his two friends who showed different reactions. Wonwoo looked at Seungkwan confused while Chan's jaw clenched as he stared the door down."Seungkwannie? Can you open the door please? I know it's been a long time but I have a lot to say." Yeah, he better have a lot to say. Seungkwan met Chan's eyes, silently asking his friend what he should do.
"It's up to you kwannie, just don't forget what he did."
Seungkwan nodded before turning to unlock his door once more, meeting his father's waiting eyes. He stared at the man foriegnly, yeah he still looked like he did 10 years ago but it was clear how much he aged. Wrinkles decorated his pale cheeks and his brown hair was now filled with grey strands. It made him mad, his father could have been a big part of his life, yet he decided to leave him behind with his grandmother.
"Okay, explain. Explain why you left me with grandma and vanished. Explain how I had to grow up without a father, please enlighten me." Seungkwan's dads eyes filled with tears,
"Kwannie." His voice cracked but he held his chin up, "I didn't want to leave you, but I was in danger and needed to leave. It was all for you and your mom. I tried to find you two but I couldn't, I searched day and night but there was no sign of you and your mother."
Seungkwan held back his own tears with a deep breath, "It wasn't mom and I, mom left after you did dad. It was just grandma and I." Seungkwan's dad gasped and before Seungkwan could even react, his father grabbed him in a tight hold. Seungkwan didn't want to hug his father back but he didn't realize how much he needed it. He felt his arms move around his father before he let out a sob, burying his face into his father's chest. His father patted his shoulder comfortingly as he let out all the pain he felt, all the loneliness he could never get over no matter how much he tried. He cried until his voice croaked and his lungs burned. He pulled away with a sniff, turning towards his friends who gave him a shy smile.
"I think we should head out Wonwoo, seems like they have a lot of catching up to do." Wonwoo nodded and the two moved to the front door, patting Seungkwan's back softly before they left. Seungkwan moved to let his father in, the older man immediately entering at the invitation. His father looked around his apartment with a frown,
"Planing on moving?"
Seungkwan wanted to yell at him for everything, but he held it in and instead nodded to his father. "Yeah, I'm moving in with my boyfriend."
His father paused, "Boyfriend? Wow I missed a lot huh?"
Seungkwan scoffed lightly as he moved to sit on his couch. His father followed and squeezed beside him, moving the boxes that occupied the space. "Son, I know I owe you an explanation. So ask away."
God where should he begin? Why did you leave me for years and only show up now that I've actually found happiness? Why did you never show up? The only words he could utter were "I've missed you dad. I'm mad that I've missed you but I can't deny it. I just wished it was sooner, before..."
His father nodded him along, "Before you decided to move?"
Seungkwan shook his head as he buried his hands in his locks, "Before grandma died, I mean you weren't even at her funeral. That was your mom dad."
His father gave him a weak shrug, "I tried," his father's voice broke as tears filled his eyes again. "I wanted to find you guys so badly, but I was scared I'd put you in danger."
