Steven stood in the cramped dressing room of the mall, staring at the array of clothing draped across the hooks and neatly folded on the bench. He held up two options, contemplating with a furrowed brow. "Hmm, should I go with black and white or pink and white? I mean, the white looks cleaner and more polished, but it's so easy to get dirty. On the other hand, the black definitely has that sophisticated vibe, but it's just kinda... not my usual style," he muttered to himself, feeling a wave of indecision wash over him. He let out a long sigh, the pressure of the choice weighing heavily on him.
"Come on, hurry up, Stevie! Remember, we're taking turns giving each other our opinions on outfits!" Spinel's voice echoed impatiently from the other side of the flimsy dressing room door. "R-right!" Steven replied, his heart racing at the thought of her waiting for him.
With a determined nod to himself, he finally decided. "Black it is!" he declared. After slipping into the sleek garments, he admired his reflection. "Hmm, not bad at all. Lucky I picked out this sharp vest to go with it." He adjusted the Men's Paisley Hot Pink Tuxedo Vest, marveling at the bold pop of color against the black.
Next, he carefully donned the Cotton Black & Pink Dress socks, followed by tailored black dress pants that hugged his figure just right. Completing the ensemble, he laced up his sharp Oxford Men Brogue pointed-toe wingtip Leather Formal Dress Shoes, feeling a rush of confidence. "Yeah, I won't put on the top just yet, but I really hope Spinel likes the look. I don't want her to feel embarrassed by my style choices..."
Suddenly, Spinel's voice broke through his thoughts. "Stop talking to yourself in there!" she exclaimed, a teasing lilt in her tone.
"S-sorry!" Steven stammered, a blush creeping onto his cheeks. He stepped out of the dressing room, smoothing down his outfit self-consciously. "Sorry for the wait. Where did she go? Spinel!?" he called, expecting her to be waiting right outside.
"Sorry, Stevie! You took way too long, so I decided to get dressed up myself," she said nonchalantly, twirling around in her vibrant dress, a wide grin plastered on her face.
"R-right..." Steven responded, feeling a twinge of disappointment that he hadn't gotten to see her reaction to his choice.
'Wow, she couldn't wait just two seconds for me to walk out of the dressing room?' he thought, trying to shake off that feeling.
"Hey! Stevie!" Spinel called, her voice full of enthusiasm, drawing him back to the moment.
"Yeah!?" he replied, looking over with renewed interest.
"I picked out a huh?" She suddenly froze up.
Spinel glanced up, and Steven stared at her, his bright pink eyes wide with admiration. A smirk played on her lips as she raised an eyebrow. "Geez, Stevie, you got something to say?" she teased, her voice laced with curiosity.
