Separating the two places brings more than just distance.
In September, when the school started, Xu Yun became a sophomore. He returned to school early and helped welcome the new students with his roommate Lao Wu.
At first, he and Su Linyi could still chat a few words on the phone every day, but gradually, their schedules did not overlap. In addition, Su Linyi was in his third year of high school and was approaching the last year of the college entrance examination, so he did not want to disturb him too much. There was also little movement from Su Linyi, so the news between the two of them gradually decreased.
In mid-September, Xu Yun went out for dinner with his roommates. On the way back, Su Linyi called him via video. He held the drunk Old Wu with one hand and answered the call with the other.
"Are you outside?" Su Linyi took a shower and sat at the desk, turning a pen in his hand.
He put his phone on the table. The light fell on him. His hair was half-dried after taking a shower and fell softly on his forehead. He looked much more restrained than when Xu Yun first met him, with his prickly look all over his body.
It was dim at night. Under the street lights, Old Wu insisted on walking in a straight line for them to see. Xu Yun's camera was a little shaky. He was trying to do two things at once. "Yeah...right."
Liu Junxu said, "You answer the phone first. I'll take care of him."
"Phone? Whose phone is it?" Old Wu came over. "Isn't this... Su Linyi? Oh, it's so late, are you checking on me?"
Su Linyi: "..."
The two of them had video calls quite often at night, basically because Su Linyi wanted to ask Xu Yun some questions about study. Xu Yun thought that maybe he was too lazy to wait for a reply, so when he had something to do at night, he would call him directly via video. If Xu Yun was not convenient, he would hang up, but would answer when he could. Su Linyi would answer every question he asked. This tutor also provided exceptional after-sales service.
The screen over there switched to the test paper.
"This question...please take a photo for me later." Xu Yun said.
"Okay." Su Linyi didn't turn the camera back, "What are you doing outside?"
"Dinner party. Old Wu will take us to meet his girlfriend tonight."
"Does it look good?"
"Very pretty."
"Oh." Su Linyi asked again, "Did she... bring her best friend or something?"
Xu Yun: "You are quite knowledgeable about this."
Su Linyi: "I know a lot more now."
Xu Yun laughed and said, "I brought it." Su Linyi asked a few more questions, and Xu Yun suddenly asked him if any girl had written him a love letter recently.
Su Linyi was stuck for a moment and said, "Who still writes love letters these days?"
Xu Yun: "Oh?"
"Usually they ask for contact information directly." Su Linyi looked at the man's face in the camera.
Xu Yun couldn't see him, so he could look at Xu Yun unscrupulously.
Xu Yun put the phone down low, which could be called a death angle, but he didn't look ugly at all. His jawline was clear and taut. He looked to the side from time to time, paying attention to what Lao Wu and the others were doing.
